Lime Street to Euston recently was 25 minutes late in because workers had already begun engineering work on the line despite our last train of the day being due.

And the bleeding tax payer. It’s harder to drive a bus than a train for about 1/2 the money.
You don’t even need to steer the bleeding thing. Running the trains on my model railway requires more concentration.
The only reason they already get vastly inflated wages is because they can hold the Country to ransom.
In the real world if the jobs no longer needed you are moved on , not with this lot.
If you know the cost and the length of time it takes to train up a bus driver and a train driver from scratch, you’ll know why they get paid twice as much.
