Next Rail Strikes Announced.

Good old Maggie, saving the country from the greedy workers and turning into the sunlit utopia that we see today.
I know, the Union’s made it easy for her to turn against the working class. She was voted in on my 19th birthday, I’d been to watch Hot Gossip in town and we heard she’d pissed the election. Even as a teenager I was devastated. I don’t celebrate the death of people but I certainly didn’t have any sympathy for her. Elvis Costello wrote a song about her future death many years ago, “Tramp the Dirt Down”, very poignant.

Transpenine cancellations and others on non strike days are due to an overtime ban that has been on for months.
I have started using the megabus service from Glasgow for matches. Not ideal but a lot better than I thought it would be.
Staying at Blackpool as well for weekend games as Manchester prices are far too high.
Don't even think about doing it in a day return now.
The good old days for that seem to be an age ago.
Used to hate Northern Rail service but they are now decent compared to the rest.
Blackpool has an decent National Express service to Manchester which is usually quicker than the train as well.
May investigate joining the Blackpool branch of the supporters club now though.
Illuminations are on till January, good time to visit.

Thankfully invertebrates like yourself, who are happy to take it up the arse, are in the minority, otherwise we would exist in a society where all were working 72hrs a week with no holidays,no benefits, and no protection/rights.

Rail workers, and others in similar environments, are only fighting for basic entitlement, they aren't making unreasonable demands and only desire to enjoy/maintain a deserved decent standard of living.

Recognise this isnt a race to the bottom, and support the Union action rather than criticising their efforts and succumbing to Tory thinking.
I have given this a like however If that is how Cricket Blue can feed his family then fair play to him, but totally agree re the union support.

We need pics of Hot Gossip. Them’s the rules.

Yeah, it is and that's my fear. Even if there's no strike action, the time table is littered with warnings about their short cancellations just now.

I'm only 15 minutes from Edinburgh Waverley, but a short notice cancellation of the 8:12 service leaves me screwed for a 12:30 KO so just have to keep fingers crossed. If I find out it's cancelled by 7am - I'll likely jump in the car and be beer-less for the day!
Fair play for persevering with the trains, I gave up on them 20 years ago from Edinburgh. Every now and then we’d give it a go and end up cancelled, delayed or it was so rammed my kids would be lying on luggage racks forlornly looking at our reserved seats in the distance.

I just drive every home game, far easier, kids aren’t getting stressed and they sleep half of it anyway

That aspect of his post wasn't the target of my comment,it was the naive criticism of the rail industry and those fighting for their standard of living as well as their futures.
