i agree never stand still in football we have a chance to open up a gap in quality where everyone else is left with scraps the players that are no better than teams alredy have.Sell a few and buy 3 or 4 .

Okay lets say we do that, and win the premier league again. The next season, no champions league football because we cant balance our budget because we've paid OUTRAGEOUS transfer fee's because other clubs know of our wealth and our reliance on names rather than on quality. Lets take the LEEDS route instead!

If we don't buy we'll find ourselves in the same situation - challenging for one prize and probably bowing out of the others early. The squad is by no means complete although I agree that we have to implement youth as we can't keep too many veterans/established players happy on the fringes of the first team (see: Johnson probably wanting out, in tomorrow's Mirror).

Other than that It's difficult to go any further without knowing the futures of the likes of K. Toure, De Jong, Johnson and the remaining strikers.

If Kolo goes Albiol would be a good replacement
If De Jong goes L. Diarra would be a good replacement.
If Johnson goes, and Suarez isn't ready for the 1st team, Krasic would be a good replacement

I'd rather we just make 3 signings and and keep most of those already here (not counting the loanees)
