My first kit was 1981. Fa cup final v spuds. Blue shirt, blue socks, blue shorts.

Don´t even mention those games!.. At the time I was studying in London and rented a bedsit in the Seven Sisters/Tottenham area

The chap who said we played in all blue in '76?? That's the year I started going, definitely white shorts as far as I recall! (Despite my first game (it was either villa or west ham) I was supporting the wrong team as the seats in Platt lane were maroon!))

That France kit looks well shit....planes above trailing blue white and red, flags all over the ground blue white and red and the team kit got no white and the wrong blue.

The strip for 76-77 when we finished 2nd had sky blue shorts that where slightly darker than the shirt (different material?) 75-76 when we won at Wembley was sky blue with white triangle at the neck and white shorts.

I agree the French kit is crap and breaks the tradition of them wearing red, white and blue but national kits don't have to only reflect the national flag. Germany don't play in yellow, red and black and Italy don't play in red, white and green - I think Italy's Azzuri Blue comes from their former Royal family Both Germany and Italy have traditional col outs which adidas and puma have largely respected. England's kit should be white shirts, navy shorts and white socks - the colors of the football Association. I know a lot of the media want England to switch to red and white to mirror the George's flag but I hate anything red. As we have seen with City Nike have zero respect for tradition and their present range of national kits is a disgrace. I only hope the lack of quality and respect is reflected in the sales.

I also remember that when I started watching City live (76) in my teens the shorts was blue and stayed blue for a decade.. :D

Yep - first wore all sky blue in the 1976/77 season BUT the crucial point is that when we wore all sky blue the trim was WHITE – that is the only thing that makes all sky blue acceptable - White trim.
If they insist on navy/black trim, then the shorts HAVE to be white... simple as that!
