Next seasons home shirt (allegedly)

Shaleumstash and myself are forming a new group called "The Navy Socks Appreciation Society". We'll shortly be appealing for help to raise enough money to buy a number of banners for the new season. They will display messages such as "Nike Out", "Stick your template kits up your ringpiece", We are NOT Chelsea lite" and "It's a barm, not a fucking muffin".

Any help will be gratefully received.

Haha! First I've heard of it, but fuck it, I'm in!

I agree with every word except for "Nike Out". I think they're well capable of making great looking kits. It's down to our board to stop accepting them fucking about and tell them they have to stick to our traditional colours no matter what.

But it's definitely a barm.

Why can't we have navy socks to match navy trim on the shirt one year and sky blue socks with white/maroon trim the following year?

Would please everyone.

Amen to this!

Sky blue shirts and white shorts should be absolutely NON-NEGOTIABLE.

The socks, navy would be my preference and sky blue with maroon turnovers my second choice. The socks should never be white.

Agree about the main shirt colour and shorts.

The kit manufacturer understandably wants to produce a different a kit as possible each year to encourage repeat sales but there are some general things that shouldn't change.

However, having navy blue trim on the shirt with navy blue socks one year, then having white trim on the shirt with sky blue and white/maroon socks the next year would make the kits (and shirts themselves) different enough in my opinion, but would also be in keeping with Manchester City Football Club's traditions.

Is that Barca kit new for next season? Like that Catalan flag element!

Yep completely agree mate.

That would respect tradition and would keep everyone happy.

Except for the design graduate at Nike who thinks he's more important than football itself.
