Next seasons home shirt (allegedly)

Well firstly - pantone colours weren't invented when Cambridge blue was, but even if they were that would be wrong. Cambridge blue, was in fact sky blue - just as our shirts are. The yellowish tinge that cambridge blue now has was introduced to the rowing club in the middle of the last century by Alf Twinn (1950ish), when we were formed Cambridge had adotped sky blue.

Alf Twinn in 1950 wanted to replicate the original sky/light blue that Cambridge rowers had adopted in the Mid 19thC which is believed by many to come from Eton blue as the Cambridge rowers were provided with a sash of Eton blue ribbon to contrast with darker Oxford blue. To recreate this he added more yellow to the shade of blue which of course creates a more greenish hue of blue and Pantone 557 is the nearest Pantone colour to this shade. City adopting Cambridge blue in 1894 but as we know City's sky blue has changed shades many times.

For what it's worth I like the accent of navy in contrast to sky blue if the leaks are correct in this thread.

I find the lack of nipples, disturbing.

The only issue i have with Puma kits is that they have about 20 Puma logo's on them, like they are trying to scream they are PUMA PUMA PUMA!!! to get attention that they make kits. They need to have more faith in themselves and know they have good kits without threatening a hissy fit like a child.

Less is more classy.
You do remember Kappa, right??

Likewise.

I've stopped buying shirts football shirts anyway but the shirt design does interest me. As someone who started supporting the team in the 60's, it's the shirts from the Mercer Allison period that are the style I like best, I still hanker for maroon on the socks but dark blue has been the predominant trim colour for quite some time so I guess it is not really the break with tradition that I envisage it as.

I prefer the home kit to be a variation on sky blue shirts with white trim, white shorts and sky blue socks. The shirt is the most important element there and the one I would like them to dick around with the least but the marketing need to differentiate each season's product is going to win the day. Not many clubs sport a sky blue shirt so as long as the bulk of the body of the shirt is sky blue, no one is going to mistake which team it is. I reckon that dark blue sleeves, whilst a bit of a radical break from tradition, could look really good but then really needs to be followed by a very traditional shirt in 2017/18.
Dunno if it's just me, i started supporting in the late 80s when i was about 5. Because of my dad. To me our colours are City blue shirt, white shorts and navy socks.

Bit off topic, but didn't want to create a new thread. Does anybody know where I can buy this shirt? Really want to buy it but I can't find it anyway.

I've already got it but it's got Ireland on the back. Mistakes were made.
Ebay mate.

Shaleumstash and myself are forming a new group called "The Navy Socks Appreciation Society". We'll shortly be appealing for help to raise enough money to buy a number of banners for the new season. They will display messages such as "Nike Out", "Stick your template kits up your ringpiece", We are NOT Chelsea lite" and "It's a barm, not a fucking muffin".

Any help will be gratefully received.
I'm in. Tell Khaldoon.

I prefer white socks. It just gives a more aesthetically pleasing look, whereas darker coloured socks just makes it look too imbalanced. The worst though, are dark coloured socks with black boots. Just no.

Sky blue look better IMO, though I prefer white to navy.
