I really like this kit. It's about time we moved away from retro designs. It's modern and fresh

To be fair to Nike, they have only really fucked it up once in 3 kits so far - the 2014/2015 kit...

The problem with nike has been quality rather than design. This new leaked shirt however is just Shit!!!

Yeh but completely fucking up 2 out of 4 isn't a great strike rate is it?

As Much as Umbro are seen by some as the best thing ever to happen to club, they had two good ones and two absolutely shite ones as well. The black badge was wank and the "soundwave" kit was absolutely revolting.

It's weird how it's a running theme - sky blue shirt, white shorts and a full colour badge is overwhelmingly popular every single time.

Start fucking around with blue shorts, silly sleeves and badges and people get pissed off.

If a designer can't make a unique design while sticking to the core elements of our identity, then they're not a very good designer in my book.

Simple to me, light blue and white Manchester City, add navy we become someone else.

I don't hate it but it probably won't stand out as an all time classic in years to come. The darker sleeves aren't great but we've had worse. At one point we had laser blue with white sleeves and a bit of navy piping. For me, that was a bigger break from tradition than this effort.

You may well be right. But I do wonder if Nike consult let alone listen to the club or FA. I remember last summer talk of a new deal, that went quiet, maybe / hopefully there was a falling out and we are looking elsewhere.

They will definitely consult with them mate, the question is how much.

There are certain things Nike have to stick to I'm sure - sky blue will have to be the dominant colour for example. Nike couldn't just put us in a black and gold home kit on their whim.

I've heard executives at City say that our "brand" is sky blue and that will be the theme for CFG clubs. They're wrong.

Our identity is sky blue and white. Has been for over 100 years.

Navy is a third colour often used for trim and socks. Maroon, to a lesser extent, the same.
