Next seasons home shirt (allegedly)

I don't hate it but it probably won't stand out as an all time classic in years to come. The darker sleeves aren't great but we've had worse. At one point we had laser blue with white sleeves and a bit of navy piping. For me, that was a bigger break from tradition than this effort.

You're only talking about the shirt though.

This also has blue shorts and white socks to top it off.

Chelsea but in sky blue and dark sleeves thrown in.

That was the last Reebok shirt. At least there we had white & the Blue was decent. Here we've got no white and the blue is detracted by the navy.

I think they have a in house competition to see who can come up with the shittest design
Sky blue and white is so bloody simple a concept

Yeh but completely fucking up 2 out of 4 isn't a great strike rate is it?

As Much as Umbro are seen by some as the best thing ever to happen to club, they had two good ones and two absolutely shite ones as well. The black badge was wank and the "soundwave" kit was absolutely revolting.

It's weird how it's a running theme - sky blue shirt, white shorts and a full colour badge is overwhelmingly popular every single time.

Start fucking around with blue shorts, silly sleeves and badges and people get pissed off.

If a designer can't make a unique design while sticking to the core elements of our identity, then they're not a very good designer in my book.

We should ALWAYS have sky blue shirts and white shorts - I don't mind socks changing but would rather they stick to a colour. We change kits like a league 2 team, it's embarrassing.
Without looking you know what the Rags home kit will be this season... same with Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle, Arsenal etc. etc. – The same should apply to us!

For such a huge profit making company, its shameful of Nike to not take any pride in their kit design. Is it an American thing? I can't imagine European designers designing a template kit for a number of teams and then just changing the colours for each team. They did it with that purple 3rd kit we had the other season, it's another thing doing it with home kits. Does it even save them any money?

It wasn't sky blue though, and that for me is the most important thing. I also think that whilst white is part of our kit, white sleeves definitely arent. Like I say, I'm not a big fan of this kit and don't want to waste too much energy defending it, but personally I think the years we ditched sky blue were way more of an affront to our traditions than this.
