Neymar

In terms of resonance and a world wide commercial impact, a no-brain slam dunk.

However, he would probably have a similar impact to Robinho on the field and for that money, would rather use the cash equivalent for two world-class midfielders.

I don't think we can play down that Manchester would be too small for someone like him and the weather would eventually get the better of his mindset, especially if you know your talent is such, there would always be an option to be somewhere else which ticks more boxes and can still earn phenomenal money?

Someone like Aguero is a very special person, possibly shaped by a much less laid-back approach to life in Argentina.

Some of the factors above definitely played a part in Balotelli's departure, and impacted his mental approach.

We obviously don't know how he'll settle in Manchester (if there's even a possibility he might come in the first place that is!)
The Argies generally have a better record, Brazilians haven't done particularly well over the years. When you look back over the years at the great names who have dominated football - few have played in England, and any that have over time have struggled. The best players we currently have in England are Coutinho and Fernandinho and neither have been consistently favoured by the national team.

Having said that, before the World Cup I had concerns and was cynical over whether Neymar was that good. I felt that he was all show and couldn't handle the physical game. He then went and carried the weight of the nation on his own. That shows his character. How many English players have had that over the years and failed? Rooney has never performed for England consistently. Neymar was incredible in every game for Brazil. He's also gone on to get better and better. Will he settle in England? That's tough to answer. But does he have the ability to handle the league and the physicality? Yes he does.

Mainly because the best Brasilian players don't come to the Premiership despite many mid level talents having done fine - Oscar, Willian, Coutinho, Juninho, Gilberto

Good lord what have you people been watching to compare Neymar to Robinho

If the rags as well as us are in for him it will be interesting to see which way he jumps.

The chances are as a kid he'll have never heard of us ( ask a random kids about teams in S America you'll do well to get 4, Boca, River plate, Santos & Flumeense perhaps ) but will have been fed raggy love by the media.

He'll get paid a fortune at either club but is probably so rich that apart from greed the money shouldn't matter.

Will he want to play for a 'once' allegedly great club now struggling where he could either become the figurehead of their return to the top or pick up the cash and not be arsed.

Or join us and be part of history in the making or pick up the cash and not be arsed.

I do think tolmie has a point, he seems lightweight, its one thing being shoved, ankle tapped in Spain when Barca have all the refs on-side, its another being launched by Shawcross, Huth,A & E etc with no protection at City.

heres where i disagree, players like mahrez are "lightweight" but he seems to be doing just fine, i wouldnt classify kdb or sterling as heavyweights and both have had success here

You don't think he gets hit hard in Spain? He does a lot and nobody can stop him

Rather idiotic logic on your part. He's going to be the best in the world very shortly

No, I don't think he gets hit as hard or as often in Spain. Every player that comes to the PL says how tough it is, that you get assaulted and it's waved play on etc.
That is how he will be stopped, and he won't like it. I'd say the same about Messi, he'd be a good player over here but he won't be as good as he is in Spain, he wouldn't allowed to be.
Show me how you can say with any authority how good someone will be, when you're just going off the potential they have.

Where's the "idiot logic" in that?

It's idiotic logic to say another team should have him because YOU think he won't handle getting hit all their time. You clearly don't watch Spanish football if you think he would get hit harder here.

Ronald's gets hit harder in Spain than he did when he was here. Getting hit hard is part of football and the best players it doesn't bother them at all.

Barca players get hit hard all the time because teams know they can't stop them. The fact people think these players getting hit hard will suddenly stop them from being great or play their natural game is laughable.

Either way we won't know as nor Messi or Neymar will come to the premier league.

Huth couldn't handle Musonda Jnr. I sincerely doubt he can handle the 2nd best player in the world.
