All of our ITK's are pointing to breaking the transfer record to sign one of Barca's top 3.(no one else they have would cost that).

Messi at the age he is at is pretty much not worth the money it would take to wrestle him away. Of course he'd be amazing, but in terms of value, we'd never see it over the long term.

Suarez? Possibly. Pep's brother is his agent, but he constantly prattles on about his love for Liverpool, not playing for anyone else in UK blah blah. Again, an older player and the way he plays will see him diminish, so long term you probably wouldn't see him as a good investment. Plus he isn't there that long and seems to have bedded in well.

Which leave us with Neymar. Young. Vibrant. Sensible football wise, by Brasilian standards. Hugely marketable around the globe.

If you are going to spend 80 mil plus on one of the above, all roads lead to Neymar.

If we are in for one of the big three, I'm guessing it's him.
 
Maybe just me but see him as a Brazilian Mario type of character ?
Not even sure he would hack it in a more evenly matched prem as opposed to the bar 6 uncompetitive Spanish league

Busquets just signed a new deal and has a buy out of 200 mil Euro. Think Barca and Real just put massive clauses into everyone to be honest...

Absolute garbage, people like you make me laugh. La Liga is a technical league, how have the English teams done against the Spanish teams in the last 5 years?

Uncompetitive but yet the La Liga teams still come out on top against the superior Prem teams, somethings obviously wrong.
 
Just can't see this one,can't see why he would leave Barca already,he spends half the time on his arse in spain and he would get much rougher treatment here and carded for diving a lot

And Busquets immediately went off the table. Who else could it be? Rakitic...50 mil tops. Alves..old and Juve bound. We know who our defensive targets are.

It's got to be either Suarez or Neymar and I'd bet on the latter.

But that's been the very best of the Spanish teams,and more or less,the same ones,season after season.

Yes it could,the point I think he was making is...they only get a couple of tough games a season,the others are normally a walk in the park.
You only have to look at the prem just gone to see how much tougher it's getting,think that's what he meant,dunno.
 
To focus it a bit more, our ITK's mentioned bidding for a Barca player before the following happened:

1.Gundogan's interview being in Barcelona/knee specialist
2. Pogba house hunting in Barca rumours

So, after our ITK's claim we're about to break the transfer record, our people pop up in Barca. The fact our ITK's mentioned it beforehand likely means that their visit had no relevance whatsoever to Gundogan or Pogba.

So let's assume they are there to talk to Barca, and their is a deathly silence from Barca which leads me to think they are open to doing a deal, hence no leaks whatsoever from Spain. Who is it?

Was just thinking if it's a few days worth of treatment,it would of been easier for city to go there,rather than him go from Germany-barca,then Manchester,then back to barca and back to Germany,if that makes sense.
 
I posted on a thread here a few weeks ago that a rag had told me we were after Neymar and his source was a big blue.
 
Surely Barca would only let Neymar (the youngun of the 3) go if they do indeed need the money and have faith in one of their youth players to take his spot - or a significantly cheaper buy.

How exactly are Barca in debt/need of money anyway? Not just because they want a new Nou Camp surely?

That's because two teams in Spain are on another level, Real and Barcelona. Spains national team doesn't do so bad either considering alot of its players play in this uncompetitive league. Each league has its strengths and weaknesses and I hate it when I see people claiming a player wouldn't handle the prem.

The same was sed about Aguero, Silva, Mata ect. It's rollox and it's down to the individuals talent and technique nothing else.

So,nothing concrete just guesswork......

However,as you have offered a strong argument - good circumstantial reasoning - it gets a stay;-)
