N'Golo Kante

Really don't see Kante as a Pep player.

He's not a fan of players than run all over the shop. He wants players to stick to positions and move the ball rather than run and chase. If players hold position, they don't need to chase to win it back they just need to press in numbers. Not saying Kante is just a dog on heat that runs everywhere, but thus far in his career, Pep hasn't used a player like him.

You're right and Henry said as much when giving his views on Pep's philosophy. Its all about discipline in the first two thirds of the pitch and keeping shape and positions. The last third is where players have more freedom but Kante is a bit of a headless chicken. Bags of energy but not great on the ball and passing could be better
 
Kante was arguably the best player in the league last season but don't see Pep getting him. Afraid we'll lose out to either Chelsea or Arsenal...

Really hope he, Mahrez and Vardy stay with Leicester for another season. Want to see them give the champions league a good go.

I think he might have been the best player as well. I've heard PSG are after him. I would love him to go there rather than him helping someone else here.

Payet was the best player in the league. Mahrez was the best Leicester player. Yes I recognize Kante was a monster pest. But he didn't come close to those 2.

That's said, I'm willing to make an exception for Payet's age.vhw is a fantastic player. And this is not an abberation. Mahrez might be. As ice seen him for Algeria and he is not 'all world.' Payet on the other hand has been unplayable anywhere and everywhere.

No proper links that I heard of but the comparisons to Mekelele (spelling?) and Mouninho there... and thrown out as a possibility by Liam Brady on the RTE Uero coverage. Makes me think it fits. I'd love to replace Fernando with him for example.
 
If we don't go for him we need our heads checking. He's a million times better than Fernando and we can't let any of our rivals snap him up he truly is special.
 
His performance blew me away today. Could play for any team in the world.

That still leaves us Gundogan, Fernandinho plus last season's dross for another season.

Many of our fans and sadly it seems Tciki are grossly ignorant of our midfield woes.

We need Gundogan, Fernandinho plus at least 3 more of their quality.
