N'Golo Kante

You don't miss a chance do you ?

To praise the best midfielder of a team who are currently sat top of the league, no you're right, I don't. If you don't agree with my opinion that's fine, leave the personal shit out, put your toys back in the pram and post relative to the thread topic or don't bother.

Because Leicester don't play like a top team, they play like an underdog. They never have the ball, their midfielders don't control the game, they sit back and hit people on the break.

And who do you think breaks up the opposition and sets a lot of their attacks up in this style of theirs?

Mr Kante.

He's absolutely superb mate.

I'd go as far as to say he's the best defensive midfielder in the country this season.

Also, no point in having the ball if you do fuck all with it. Leicester make the best use of the possession they do have in the division.

It's not fashionable to play anything other than fancy pants tika taka, come on pal get with it, hahaha!!

Haven't read the topic. Had a few pints. Watched 15 Leicester games. Dude is a
Fking monster. He will get soooo many cards for city that he doesn't get now. Refs can get fked.

Honestly one of my favorite players to watch play right now. A. Monster.

Best player in the league this season by a country mile.

Don't buy into the Mahrez/Vardy hype train. Stats show that when Kante hasn't played Leicester have reverted to type. He's a 3 man midfield rolled into one and would have been the perfect addition to our team in recent years rather than the lethargic Javi Garcia and Fernando.

A big yes from me.

He is easily the best defensive midfielder in the country. If there is a chance to sign him we should.

Not for me, yes he's been phenomenal, but for me it's down to the system and style of Leicester. He fits them like a glove, when at a team like ours I highly doubt he'll have the same impact.

Aside from when they played us, I have barely seen Leicester this season - mind you not been in mood to watch much of anyone but City - but I have seen and heard enough of Leicester to know playing for them and City will be very different. Can this guy make the change, I have no idea but City aren't looking for the best DM in the league - if, as someone described him, he truly is - they are looking for the best in the world. You often can't get the best in the world but it is a question of how close you can get. If Kante is close to that, he may be an option but City are looking at people like Gundogan and Pogba to playin central midfield and I am sure they are monitoring Biscuits' situation at Barca.

Far more chance I suspect that Yaya will be at City next season than Kante will.

Just checked his pass completion and he leads the Leicester side but would be 20th in the City side. Obviously, in our side and under Pep's tutelage, he might be able to improve to the level Pep would want but in the DM role at City, he would need to be close to or topping the pass completion charts.

Are people seriously comparing Kante and Yaya? That's like comparing Hart & Aguero, completely different players.

You may need to go and watch what Kante does. I'd go as far as saying he's better than Fernandinho and Fernando playing at the same time. I've never seen a player with his engine and a nose for the ball.

@OB1 pass completion in a Leicester side that doesn't have the ball wont tell us anything. Next time you see him play, just watch the other team in possession. The guy is a nuisance, endlessly chasing down the ball and then quickly passing it on for a counter attack. He's the total opposite of all our current midfielders barring Delph and brings more industry than Delph and a better eye for the counter attack. If he got crocked tomorrow Leicester would finish 3rd or 4th, he's that vital to why they are winning.

Would this be our current or future system? If the latter, please would you share with the rest of us :)
Due to Leicesters system, he is able to just sit deep and boot the ball forward. It's the easiest job in the world being a defensive midfielder in a system that is really, really deep.

In our system, Pep or Pellegrini, he would have to be able to use the ball well, pick a pass and be composed. From what I've seen, he won't be able to do any of them things at a level that is expected of him.
