Fully concur. Where does it stop, who else do we owe a living to?

Weaver was an absolute hero for us at wembley and for that I will be forever grateful, but he was by no means the model pro when at City and had he been more disciplined and committed then he may well have fulfilled the potential for us that he showed in flashes. However he didnt and I can think of more deserving players that did not get testimonials due to length of service.

Nicky Weaver, a good blue who played a key role in an important part of our History, Thank you, but no testimonial from me.

I found him in a doorway on cross st one night absolutely leathered and on the verge of a shoeing and/or being locked up. Tried to get him in a cab to get him home, told me to 'fcuk off' ....so i did! As nixon says, wasn't disciplined.

As I said on my previous post modern testimonials are about earning money for charities and in Weavers case letting us say goodbye properly

do you know for a fact he would give all the money to charity? modern day footballers have a great life with great financial awards, i'm not giving them any of my hard earned money, will be asking for a whip round for lottery winners next

Weaver was a good keeper and was a hero at Wembley but if we are dishing out testimonials I'd rather see Dickov get one....did Goater get one?Dont think he did...and he deserves one more than Weaver.

Hardly a model pro by any means..I know a young keeper who was on our books and idolised Nicky,and he ended up selling cars over here thanks to Nicky's influence.Apparently the ringleader behind our "drinking culture" that almost ruined Dunne,Whitley and few others.

I wish him no ill and liked him but not a testimonial from me either I'm afraid..although good luck as your efforts seem well placed.

TS.....the whole point of a testimonial was to reward 10 years service, The Goat and Dicky don't come under that.
Lakey got one due to exceptional circumstances.
If they did another one for him, I would go again, not many truly deserve it.

OK so what we really need is a game - with all the money going to charity. Weaver, Goat, Dicky, Edgy, Bish, Morrison, Whitley, Vaughen, Crooks, Wiekens, Horlock playing - sorted.
