Nicky Weavers Testimonial

i think if injury hadn't taken its toll, nicky possibly would not have got involved with the drinkers at city, be honest how many of us if nothing to do, off work think " i fancy a couple of beers " no differant for those guys, it must be hard at times to keep such discipline. i think i'd fail !

Everyone mentions the 1999 play-off final, some great goalkeeping at times , but i think memories more to do with penalty saves, however, how many remember a cold, dark winter night versus ipswich town, city won 1-0, to this day i don't know how, that night NICKY WEAVER made umpteen world class saves and saved us from a thrashing, probably up there with some of the greatist goalkeeping displays ever seen, even the daily mirror rag was drooling over his performance

I remember that night, he was world class. There aren't many players that would have scored against him that night.

Nicky Weaver was my first goalkeeping hero. I was 13 years old when the 1999 play off final took place, after that i decided to start playing in net. Two reasons, because of Nicky, and secondly because i was shite out!

My favourite performance was the one against Ipswich, which has been mentioned earlier. He pulled off several 'World Class' saves in one game, that some keepers never make in their whole career.

I once wrote to Nicky, asking for advice on goalkeeping (and hoping to blag some free gloves!) i never got the gloves, but he did write back a letter and also a signed photo. This i still have somewhere, but it goes to show what a top bloke he is. I have met him several times at Maine Road and COMS and he has always been a gentleman.

All in all, truth be told, we wouldn't be where we are now if it wasn't for Nicky Weaver.

City...give the man a Testimonial, we have the money!

Keep going guys, 471 signatures in only two days is amazing.

This petition is the 24th highest on the petition website.

Everyone please spread the word!!

I've got a feeling that weaver would probably invite Dickov and Goater to play!! lol

How about do it as a testimonial for the Boys of 99 v the current 11

Would be great to see that match, I hope Weaver gets a testimonial. I was at the Middlesbrough game when he came on as a sub and Jamo went up front, when Weaver made a great stop with his feet and all the crows started singing 'Weaver, Weaver' was a great moment, real tear in the eye stuff. Keep the signatures coming, the Club have listened to the fans on loads of things recently and if this gets enough support may happen!

I dont want to piss on any ones chips & would like to give you credit for trying to do something ,but over the years City fans have snubbed players testimonials & the turnout have been verry poor .Even Paul Lakes V Scum only atracted around 23,000 . Good Luck anyway

signed with out a doubt
can't beat his little flips he did on the edge of the area at maine road haha
