It's probably the sell on clause that Porto don't want to pay Barca that will scupper the deal so close to the window closing

Pace in a midfielder isn’t an absolute necessity if they make up for it in intelligence and energy. Like Rodri does and Gundo did for years. They know when to press and how to read the game.

Some of the best midfields in recent history weren’t exactly blessed with pace.

I don’t know too much about González as have only seen him once or twice but obviously the club think highly of him. If we don’t buy him we will still more than likely get top 5 in the league depending on how the next 6/7 fixtures go. Any chance of progressing to the latter stages of the CL will be gone though. Hopefully they have someone lined up this summer anyway.

In its day Tripe and Offal were very popular.
