Fantastic season in 17/18 but a donkey in defence aside that. Good professional off the pitch but I guess the older heads here have seen way worse players in their time so he is definitely not bad to them. I can respect that.
Funny that, your post is sandwiched between 3 gracious ones that get plenty of likes. Yours got, er, none

Based on this logic we could release Sterling for free this summer if there are takers, because he done so well for us, won things for us, and if we can make it easier for him to leave by not asking a fee and maybe pay his salary too while playing elsewhere we should do it for him to remember us fondly.

If Mansour would be so generous in all of his business, he would be bankrupt by now and negotiatiors would take him for granted.
Something is working rather well since he took over, top 5 in the world revenue, unbelievable squad (look at what we had pre takeover), our owner and senior execs are clearly doing a fucking shocking job

Not at all.

Based on that logic we should extend Sterling's contract and pay him well because it would be more expensive to bring in a similar replacement and the replacement would need to get used to our systems of play.

Or maybe you should write into the club and, with the benefit of your vast experience in football finances, tell them how to do it eh?

Otamendi leaving paves the way for the chips to fall for a Kounde deal. Hope so.

Raz is not in his thirties so dont be stupid, we do it when they are coming to the end of their career ,stop bitching and watch the game

Terrible deal. We will have to pay him off in a years time. But this means we have 2 foreign spots available.
Let's hope we have something else up our sleeve after we get a CB in.

We will only have one space available if nico leaves.

Unless someone is lef out of the CL squad.

There are a few clubs interested. surely one of them would be happy to have him on a permanent deal. This can wait a few more days to agree his departure.

Whether he’s been a good servant for the club or not it doesn’t mean we should just be giving players away we’re not a charity, you can treat loyal players well without constantly losing out on a not unsubstantial amount of money. There’s an assumption he’s on astronomical wages too, most reports have him on around 120k a week, Lovren was around 110k a week according to the same reports, there’s barely any difference, at least not enough to have an impact on any fee we should be getting. There’s no way of looking at it where giving him away for free or anything less than £10 is a good thing
Bit harsh saying he’s only worth a tenner.

Very interesting turn of events again, source says Otamendi is no longer Porto bound and instead will join their rivals Benfica, who will recruit him after selling off Ruben Dias this window (I presume to Spurs)
