He also singled out Manchester City midfielder Nigel De Jong for criticism: "At half time, I said to my players that Nigel de Jong should stay away when we had the ball.
"
So he has a bad game, and suddenly he is a rubbish player? De Jong's strengths far outweigh his weaknesses and the people who are not "fans" of his, seem to come up with the same tired criticisms, such as "limited" and "better midfielders" around. Is he a requirement in every game? Probably not. If De Jong is on the field on Sunday, do we concede those goals? In my opinion no.
Shame he doesnt want to be on the field unless he gets an extra 30 or 40k a week in his back pocket. As for Sunday it was a typical 1st match of the season. De Crab would not have made any difference imo. Barry maybe, he has a footballers brain and is far superior to dc.
What the fuck are you on? Your suggesting De Jong won't take to the field, because of his contract negotiations....
As for Barry, a good player, who will be 32 by the end of season. I do not think for one instance, he is "far superior", to De Jong, 53 International Caps for England vs 63 for Holland... Which is more impressive?
