So when did this mean getting rid of one of our defensive midfielders when all we have is Milner and Barry, who are good with one injured, Yaya who is excellent, and Rodwell who is young and for the future.

If we sell NDJ without a replacement (Rodwell shouldn't be the replacement) then it's a backwards step.

Presumably this means we're signing Javi Garcia. If not, selling de Jong would be nonsensical.

if he shaves his head and grows a goatee it may soften the blow, but i doubt it.

I hope he cannot agree terms with Milan and stays with us, I think the club could have done more to convince him to say we are certainly weaker without him. Unless there is something in the wind ............

Milan have agreed a £3.5m fee with Manchester City for Nigel De Jong, confirming he'll arrive for a medical tomorrow.

Talks for the 27-year-old have been on-going for several days and had ground to a halt this morning, but tonight Milan Channel announced "De Jong is on his way to Milan. The medical will be performed tomorrow."

It is suggested that De Jong is already at the airport with Milan director Ariedo Braida.

De Jong’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season, so City were eager not to lose him on a free transfer.

so we dont buy any big name players, ok, but to let one of your best players go is daft, nige should have been our biggest signing this summer, especially with the champs draw.
