No! City win the title and I left at 1-2!

This day will live with me for the rest of my life, as it was the day that I realised that my 6 year old son would also become a life long blue.
I always encourage him to never give up in everything he does and hat he should always fight to the end, however at 2-1 down and with 4 minutes to go, I was the one slumped in my seat telling him it was all over!
Don't give up dad he said, I could see the tears welling up...what if we score? What if Sunderland score? He said. It's over son, it's over...I reply.
Dzeko scores and he's up cheering, while I'm still sat in my seat...We've scored dad, what's up?he asked.
It doesn't matter son, it's not enough, it's still over,I replied...
Suddenly NDJ has the ball and is advancing in slow motion, everything is moving in slow motion, until the ball leaves Agueros boot and the whole world explodes at lightning pace, I'm holding him in my arms and want the moment to last forever,we've done it dad he screams as tears flood out,It was that moment that I realise he is a blue for life.

He recently entered a completion on the City website, where you had to write a poem about anything City related. Unfortunately he came second place with this effort.

On a bright day in May
Manchester city came out to play
One more win was all we needed
Don't lose now, the crowd they pleaded.

After 44 years of pain
Could it happen again?
They came from wide and far
To watch City play QPR

Come on City one final push
Take it easy, no need to rush
Then just before half time, could it get any better
A wonderful goal from Pablo Zabaleta

The second half starts, and we're all in a daze
Cisse scores as we watch with amaze
Then Mackie scores another and suddenly it's 2-1
The league is over the trophy has gone...

It's finished at Sunderland united have won it,but wait a minute.
silva takes a corner, Dzeko scores and we're right back in it!
Surely it's not possible it's too late now...
Aguero,Balotelli,Agueroooooooooooooooo

It's all over and City have done it
I can't believe we've finally won it
Tears and laughter are all around
As we make our way out of the ground

We are the Champions, and dad lifts me up
To say I love you, we've won the Cup!

I didn't leave, but from when QPR scored their second all that was going though my head was "how am I going to survive the summer with those rag twats taking the piss"

Exactly how I felt .

I thought this for a second. Then thought; if I can take them taking the piss about us getting relegated to the third division, I can retaining fucking take it off them for finishing scone in the Prem.

And much like this Summer. Their title win is pretty much forgotten already, even by them. Not heard a Rag mention it for about two weeks.

Quite possibly the greatest sporting 'event' in history, even as a neutral or not even into football everyone you speak to about it can remember it, 'that' Aguero moment will transcend generations & to say YOU was there is quite incredible really.

how can it still bring a tear to your eye watching that? Just filled up again, dont know whether its the thought Dad died the year before or what, but if we never win the league again, that day will live forever.

I watched the "Games that shook the Etihad #10" a couple of nights ago. Unbelievable emotions all over again!

I wasn't there but could understand leaving in a way. It was absolutely the most gut wrenching experience ever for a City fan of 46 years and I'm sure for all of us. I felt like leaving my own living room!
The commentator mentioned quite a few had left the stadium. I'd love to hear your story if you were one of those who MISSED that unbelievable finale!

Don't know anyone who left early. Though I saw a few going in the next block I can't understand anyone going through that agony only to leave before the end. I couldn't help laughing at them all in the bars later moaning aboutissing it.

-- Wed Jun 12, 2013 10:44 am --

No mate. It still happens to me every time I watch it.

My Dad took me and my bro' to Maine Road for our first game, vs. United in '67. Our 2nd game was the Cup Final win in '69. What a start!
But how can you possibly explain to new City fans here in Thailand and around the world what this moment meant to fans like us .. and our Dads?

My Dad's 82 now, a City fan for 75 years and always keeps me up to date on City games by email, even though I see every minute of every game on TV here in Thailand! Thanks Dad ..... for everything!

I actually remember being pissed off when Edin scored! "why fucking tease us, we are never going to do it, this always fucking happens!"
This is exactly how I felt! Never crossed my mind to leave throughout the whole game, the players would have still done a lap of honour and even if we had lost they deserved the applause.
