'No History...'

Most supporters don't know the history of their own club, let alone anyone else's. It's a specialist subject.

This kind of crap is the verbal equivalent of looking around for a weapon to use in a fight. You pick up the first thing that comes to hand. Anyone who thinks City haven't any history is an ignorant moron. In the 1930s United were a joke club, and that's just for starters...

Nothings changed then.

I remember German football fans were outraged last season that 1899 Hoffenheim were now playing in the Bundesliga and slagged them off for having no history.

Look at their name, there's 110 years of history. Having no history applied to clubs such as FC United or AFC Liverpool, clubs who have only been around for a few years.

The funny thing is, we have won league titles, won the fa cup, won the league cup and have a european trophy as well if i am not wrong still have the highest club attendance in England? add to that we were formed not last century but the century before and you have to be a clueless twat to spout we have no history.

That's a very good post

so no history is winning fa cups, championships, league cups and a european trophy.all which city have won.no history? PRICKS.by the way, what did liverpool win until the sixtys?fook all.no history?

I`ve had this nonsense thrown at me by rags and scousers ever since we got robinho, and it`s just a load of horse sh**.No history is just a load of jealous glory hunting plastics whinging cos they`re gonna be embarrassed at every turn by the mighty MCFC juggernaut heading their way.

If Manchester City have no history , then who does?

More things have happened to this club than any other ...... the club , and Maine Road is full of history and records , some strange , some not so strange!

In fact you'll even find some of the rags own history there!

Anybody else hate this 'term' being thrown around recently from rival fans when talking about us?

If you define history by simply 'success' well yeah, there's not a whole lot that stands up to a club like Real, but if you define history as a 'story' then there's not many clubs who have the amount of ups and downs, complete with crazy twists that City do. I mean, even now with everything going so well for the club, there's a little voice at the back of my mind telling me that another crazy twist will happen in the not so distant future.

I've always never been a fan of the 'no history' thing anyway, when I've seen the comment thrown around at other clubs. Are we saying only the top clubs have 'history' and that teams that the majority of teams which have existed since the 1800's have been living a useless existence. It sticks of snobbery as far as I'm concerned, and for those that do define 'history' as past success, then it's easy to point out that history is always being written and isn't something which is frozen to suit certain agendas, and in 100 years people will be looking at the history of the next 20 years, just as people look back at Real's 'history' now and see that there are other teams which have had similar success.
Great post.

In 50 years time when a lot of us may be dead and gone, Manchester City will be as big if not a bigger name than Manchester United and Liverpool, even AC Milan and Real Madrid!

And okay we might have shamefully only won 2 league titles (Hudderfield have won 4 and who the fuck are they!?) in our whole entire history but we've won as many European trophies as Celtic and Rangers and they play in Europe every fucking season, i bet they hold the record for amount of seasons in Europe yet they've only got 2 titles between them - haha what a joke! But i bet you Celtic and Rangers both think of themselves big clubs with a rich history, right!?

We have got a lot of history and tin pots dont have to make that history up! and anyway, we are about to make history and the likes of United and L'pool might want to have a think about their bank balances before having a pop at us cos they might be having a pop from The Championship in 20 years time as they'll just be washed up old has-beens like Preston are - once the best club in football but now all they have is their history - just like the Rags and the Scousers will when the new world order come and crash through the boring shit that everyones tired of now! Red is on its way out and the future is bright, the future is blue!
