No More Champions League For Me

Quit the whining. If we had done as well as we should have in the Champions League there wouldn't be all this crying. No more champions league for me translates as we're not winning, I give up. Have some faith and get behind the team.

Nothing to do with that. The games are shit to watch, even when we win.

It was the Europa, but we won in Porto and the game was ruined by an inept official. Then we were fined more for all the bookings we got for fuck all than they did for their fans' racist chanting.

That's true, it was a good final last year. Rizsoli is a good ref though, and there lies the difference.

it's not a patch on our domestic league tbf

but lets stick with it cos we will win it within the next decade

2. Blatantly rigged draws designed to ensure half a dozen big clubs progress

3. Rip off ticket prices
4. FFPR designed to protect half a dozen big clubs
5. No alcohol in grounds.
6. UEFA effectively condoning racist chanting
7. UEFA insisting no domestic games are played on CL nights
8. Season ticket holders being forced out of their seats for press seats and bigger advertising boards
9. Meaningless group games with nothing at stake
10. Obvious bias by high ranking UEFA officials (eg Platini) towards certain clubs and against English clubs in particular City
11. Heavy handed and often thug like policing abroad
12. The Etihad filled with tourists on Champions League nights

I said more or less this. Don't get me wrong, City did not deserve to go through, but I wish we had been beaten fairly and squarely, no more Champions League for me either home or away.
 
I used to love it, the best teams and players in the world competing against each other. There have been some great ties and I always loved watching United get a spanking off a proper team.

Then City qualified and it changed my whole opinion. First hand experience of the stop start style of play, 'winning fouls' and getting opposition players booked. 'That's European football, you'll have to get used to it' some say. No, it's playing like a set of clinical bell ends that's what it is and Barça are the worst. Opinion of them as a club top to bottom changed completely last night.

Then there's the little things, the hoardings that have to be extra high just for this, the draws that get dragged out for bloody ages and real fans getting chucked out for corporate and media. Screams of an organisation that has completely forgotten about the football and is too up it's own arse to care. As long as they get the sponsors & tickets sold they're happy and as long as the music gets played and CR7, Ibra and Leo score a few goals the armchair fans around the world keep it's reputation as 'the best club competition in the world'.

I'd love for City to drop out tomorrow. Tell them to fuck themselves but it won't happen, as the money from it is too valuable to us as well and certain players would never join us. I'd also love to give it up personally but I know I won't be able to, because the thought of us finally beating a set of twats like Barca and shoving one up UEFA's arse is one that I can't possibly miss.
 
its wretched competition , run by a corrupt football body , there are half a dozen clubs who think they own the champs league , and they dont want teams like us rocking the boat , tempting to say , fcuk em concentrate on the premeirship , but teams like ourselves , spuds , everton need to get in amongst them , and upset the arrogant bastards , its about time there was new blood in the champs league.
