I love the passion and emotion from our fans, it's a trait that makes us a special club. However some of the knee-jerk reactions and over the top declarations on here are a little cringe. Yes the ref was poor over the two legs, yes the ranking system is in favour of the more successful historically than on current form, yes UEFA are a frustratingly useless organisation at times, but not one of you would shun the competition if city ever manage to get a final. We have had some bad luck over recent years in Europe but we are improving. And year on year we will get better, and we will be more respected in this competition. And one day, on a glorious night in some European city, we WILL walk against a backdrop of blue and white, our fabulous, noisy, passionate fans 100% behind us for the final of the Champs League. And every single one of you who is complaining in this thread will love it! And rightly so.
This isn't meant as a dig to those posting their feelings of frustration, it's just meant as a polite reminder that this is the competition that means the most to our players, to our club, and deep down most of our fans too. Personally I think we can hold our heads high after Wednesday, regardless of the press bull****. For now, we are out. But one day we will win this cup and we shouldn't try and kid ourselves that it won't be the biggest moment in our history.[/quote
This.
4 years ago, we would have sold our mothers for a trip to wembley. 6 visits later and there is already and air of arrogance at wembley being (almost) our 2nd home. 4 years ago, the idea of champions league as absurd and not going to happen in our life time. 3 seasons of champions league later, loads want to jump ship already. Check out the forums of the other regular english CL teams - you won't find them whinging about 'corrupt this, rip off that….' - for them, it is normal. Its sodding expensive, its mildly underwhelming at times, no alcohol and apparently, everyone wants City to lose and those at the upper end of the greasy UEFA pole are doing everything they can to prevent us getting to the top - bollox! We played shit against Ajax - both legs, Bayern showed us the way it was meant to be done in the very 1st match and at the Etihad earlier this season, Dortmund was a steep learning curve to show that the so called smaller clubs can make it to a final if they play the right game - they fucking played us off the park! Napoli the same………
As far as I am concerned, to wake up each morning thinking that what ever game we have coming up - against who ever it might be, just to consider that we have as good a chance as any to win - is total reward and fulfilment in itself. i don't five a flying fuck what all the other clubs, fans, media etc say about the money - its about 11 of our players on the park - on the day and I fucking love it where ever we are………..
