No refund for tonight's game.

Manchester City is a business. They make decisions based on what they believe is best in their commercial interest (Just as the airline, grocery store, etc. do). If as part of this some 'customers' decide to shop elsewhere then that is always your prerogative. But it really is a case of if you bought a ticket at a price you were happy to pay, then find out that someone else paid less, TOUGH. And for clarification, YES, this has always been the case at any football game, that the guy sat next to you may have paid less, but it may not have been due to an advertised special.

It's just simple economics.

Exactly this.... the offers/bargains were there before the first game of the group stages (3-4-2 & 2-4-1)... the price for tonights game was originally £25 ?? (still a good price) and City have decided to now reduce the tickets to encourage attendance..... those people moaning should maybe take a look down the road at the rags where they are fleecing them left right and centre and don't even give rag season ticket holders a choice but instead force cup tickets on them at full price.......

I think they should.

We bought our tickets a day before the reduction, and we weren't even allowed in our own seats.

I'm obviously still going to go but I'm really pissed off at this.

My mum was happy with the price she'd paid, but she'd rather have paid £10 for us both instead of £40.

Not happy.

"Allowed" in your own seats - come on pal relax. As with all cup games there is a window to select your own seat and that was publicised when the 3 for 2 scheme was advertised. I had to wait until 2 days after the window to get my ticket sorted and by then my season ticket seat was no longer available for any of the games, these things happen.

Think yourself lucky you are still going tonight - some people are not able to due to circumstances beyond their control.
I couldn't go to the other two European home games because of circumstances not under my control.

For all those moaning and wanting a refund, here is your solution.

Let's suppose that you paid 25 quid for your ticket. If you now buy one for 5 quid, your average ticket price is 15 quid !

If you but 10 tickets at a fiver, your average price is 6.81 (Not much more than the 5 quid offer).

So, stop moaning, get some tickets for your family and friends (if you have any) and bring them along to the ground. You'll be lowering your average ticket price and helping your club.

1) It happened last season with the Everton game.

2) It is fine. I buy a ticket straight away so I always lose out however I would rather sit in a stadium with more fans in it and unlike the OP and you, I am not some precious little twat that cares more about me getting the best deal and ensuring that no one gets anything cheaper than me, than I am about the stadium having a better atmosphere.

3) It has now happened twice, if you got stung both times, tough shit, you now know it may happen again.

4) YOU CALL ME SELFISH!??? You don't know the meaning of the word sunshine. How is it selfish to not care if someone pays less than you? You are the selfish bastard and you know it or are not wise enough to understand.

As for being labelled a tout, it is simply the economic model of supply and demand.

point 1 - i know it happened last season too, my point was until we as a club got a load of money, it never happened at all.

point 2 - did you fucking read my post where i said i'm on the cup scheme, i got to every home match and have done for 18 fucking years, so where did i say i care about getting the "best deal"? my points were that is is unfair of the club not to refund the difference to others, or they should advertise when they first go on sale that a percentage will be sold at a fiver when only a week to go.

point 3 - again, did you read? i haven't got stung, i'm a season ticket holder so the everton game was part of my season ticket and this one was free in the 3 for 2.

point 4 - yeah i fucking do call you selfish. How do YOU get that I am selfish for caring??!?!?! I care when people are shafted. You don't. Don't you call me a selfish bastard, don't you fucking dare, you know sod all about me!

As for a couple of others who quoted my post - no i'm not sat here hitting refresh, i checked once, and am now logging off to nip out then go to the match. YOU may be sat hitting refresh, as some of you have a billion posts and obviously spend all day sat doing just that.
And th other bloke who mentioned sarcasticly about how pensioners and kids sit around him at different prices, well fuck me how thick of me to not realise that! (cue sarcasm). My post mentioned about people "the same age" paying different amounts. Get it? I bet you don't get it often..

And i stick to the point of i'm sick of people acting like those of us who buy match tickets at anything other than a fiver are rolling in money.

some city fans on here are sooooooooo i'm alright jack that they really don't give a shit about anything else other than themselves.
no point mate he doesn't read posts or if he does he doesn't understand them. as a goodwill gesture the club should refund fans that paid full price....even the banks paid back charges for 3yrs before the court case as a goodwill gesture.

That doesn't make sense does it?
I'll try again!

I bought the 3 for 2, knowing I couldn't commit to all 3 games. And then couldn't make one game. You stated you couldnt commit so waited to pay for all 3 seperately. I still got tonights game free whilst paying for the other two, but respectively paid for a game I didn't attend.

It's like refusing to buy a season ticket because you know you cant commit to every game then complain it costs more to buy each ticket seperately.

i paid £90 for all three games. i just thought it would have been a nice gesture from the club to say they were going to charge me £5 for this game like everyone else. make it a level playing field for loyal blues.
it would of made my day especially as i have had to give my ticket to my dad so my son can still go.
they wont do that so thats life. but it leaves a very bad taste

But you bought the tickets before the offer was introduced. Things in life happen like this. you learn from it. There were another 2 offers during the group stage time. You chose not to take up the offer.
