NOEL GALLAGHER

People who went to Watford (A) a couple of seasons back when we relegated Watford, would have seen Noel walk half way round the pitch and into the City Section. I felt sorry for him and i was cringing with the amount of people pestering him while the game was on.

Has he written a song for city...?
Should put his songs on Vinyl then they could put secret city songs / messages on, when you played it backwards.

OH come on, they love City.

Love Oasis, one of my absolute favorite bands. Noel might not be really clever, but his wit and songwriting more than makes up for that, plus his voice is amazing too. Going to see them here in Stockholm later this month, well annoyed that it clashes with the Newcastle match.
Get yourself booked in at the Berns hotel, I'd expect that they'll stay there.

It's embarrassing to read all these posts suggesting that it's a bad thing to move away from Manchester.
Christ boys, get out and see the world....live in a strange place....expand your small minds.
Where Noel and Liam live is a beautiful part of London with some magnificent houses. It's sad to say but London is light years ahead of Manchester (although there isn't a clothes shop as good as Oi Polloi) when it comes to offering the choices to make life a little more colourful.

i personally think that the gallaghers seem ok.you can't blame them for getting some dough together n moving to london outta burnage.if they still lived round here they would get terrorised! the music is average, fair enough but they are both blues who don't live here anymore.we have people on here from all over the place.aus,usa,spain.does that mean they don't support city???????

Absolute Legends.

If you aint been to see them live, then do it, cus i would say that 95% of people who do see them live realise why they have got such a legendary status. They can sound a bit knobby now and again off stage but tell me a rock band that dont.

And as for saying they are plastic City supporters??? What does that mean??? Cus they left Manchester for London to further their careers, cus they dont get to every City game, cus they actually talk about musice issues a bit more than they talk about City (who they love just like the rest of us), cus Liam wore red at the COMS concert (then they got the crowd singing anti-rag songs when the security barrier broke).

The boys are 'just as blue' as the rest of us. And f*ckin mint live!

This is true I was also sat there!

He was in a box, definately remember seeing Liam after we'd won the penalties on the tape of the match.

I love Oasis, been to loads of their concerts etc. But Noel Gallagher is a complete arse. At least Liam IS an arse, and doesn't pretend not to be. Noel pretends he's all this, all that, and is intelligent, but to be honest, he speaks more bullshit that Danham on here! (ha ha)

He's never been to COMS. They were given 2 City shirts to wear at the concerts at COMS, with their names on the back. They didn't wear them on stage, just kept them. They very rarely went to Maine Road after they'd made it big, even though they were in Manchester at the time.

Compare him to Ricky Hatton, and you soon realise that Hatton is actually a proper fan, whereas Noel is just a plastic City fan, using them for a bit of publicity and a niche when it suits him.

they do spout alot of shite and the fact they live in london doesnt help the matter, Hatton on the other hand is always very upfront and proud of being a city fan. he has the badge embroidered on his shorts!

Love Oasis music though, and theyre fantastic live

Noel always attracts negative posts on here for some reason.

Why, I have no idea.

Seems to be a good bloke who has City close to his heart.

That'll do for me.

If you watch the DVD of the Maine rd. gigs I think they're at their live peak there. The energy is amazing-it all just "came together."
Right time, right band in the right place.

But I saw the recent BBC proms gig and Liams voice sounded totally shot to bits to me.

Hope it's better at Heaton Park!

Fuck his voice, aslong as it's loud and the rhythm's right.

I've got no problems with him i think oasis are great. Actually there was one of there concerts on tv a while back on i think channel 4. And in the crowd there were flags from countries all over the world being waved. And they ended up getting the whole crowd singing who the fuck are man united while shouting how much they loved city, fucking awesome it was i wished i had of taped it.

Noel did run with Citys hooligans because i remember. He is still very very good friends with a lot of the older lads from Levenshulme,Wythenshaw and Fallowfield.
A lot of Citys lads at Maine Road used to sit in the Maine Stand in the top right hand corner with all the ticket touts. Most of them would hurdle the turnstiles and jib it in. In the 80's and 90's Noel and Liam would be in their a lot and Noel especially was well know to the older Guvnors.
The under 5's did exist at City and they later became the Young Guvnors. The tag under 5's was not one they picked it was just a name given to everyone clubs younger firm in the 80's to replicate in words West Ham's notourious under 5's. Leeds had under 5's and so did Everton,Sheff Utd and a lot of other firms.
Two lads called Jaimie Roberts and Rodney Rhoden started the Guvnors name at city, as they would wind the older Maine Line firm up by saying "Were the fucking Guvnors mate not you older lot"(in jest) and the Francis brothers,Mikey Williams and the older lot decided it was a great name so changed it to that.
Other names relating to city's firm that have been like pocket break off's have been "The Yung Firm" in the 90's who went battling all over the country usually a few miles from the ground and were very very organised at moving large numbers without detection.
People in the know will know about "The Yung Firm" as over the years they have recieved more jail sentences and banning orders than the whole of operation omega put together.(set up 6 stockport)
Due to a strict code of silence not a lot was talked about them as they didn't go spraying "Yung Firm" everywhere in spray paint.
This was because they believed in being as stealth as possible with every movement due to the climate of police operations.
Yes the Yung Firm were part of "The 90's and millenium Guvnors" but they wanted their own name for their generation. Now not active due to families and police bans and jail sentences they still meet for a beer once a month and attend match's in europe on a large scale.
The Blazing Squad also now exist who number up to 50 young lads.

Cheers, but I already live in Stockholm, and being a student I seldom have that kind of money anyway. :)

Liam does sound different but it doesn't bother me. Last time I saw them a couple of years ago the mix was great and I was too busy singing along to notice. Looking forward to the gig.

I met Noel in Vegas the day after the ricky hatton fight...i didn't speak to him long, but he seemed really sound.
We were staying at the Riviera and they had a Beatles tribute band on, we got tickets in the afternoon and were suprised to see Noel Gallagher sat about three rows behind us..there was only about 20 people there as well, it was surreal!
