So Mike Keegan, Bob Cass and John Cross all believe that RvP to the rags is a done deal... well, I'm sticking with Tolm and his view that the rags are skint.

How can they afford £50m on a couple of deals when they are struggling with their last season's finances and the share offer.

They can't be both skint and spending nearly £80m this window!

Well, not anymore if the Chevrolet deal figures are correct, they will get 11mil for the coming season, on top of Aon's current 20mil. I'm sure they will be able to stump up the remaining 19mil from somewhere. If not, then they can still get one player that can improve their team..

It's not on top of the Aon deal is it? I thought it was due to start in 2 years when the Aon deal expires?

I thought I read that the AON money was paid in the first 3 years of the deal.

Sky now also saying Lucas to the scum is very close. Great prospect but I'll be more worried if they get van Persie (who would push the massively inferior Welbeck to the bench). All United can do is have Lucas replace one of their existing wingers who are always hugely productive anyway, such is their style. If they sell Nani, they are selling a proven Premier League star and replacing him with a great prospect but still only a prospect.

Real Madrid continue to sell their best academy players, a tradition that never seems to change even after they let Eto'o, Cambiasso, Mata, Soldado, Javi Garcia, and other top players go. Joselu (26 goals in 36 games for their B team last season, 1 goal in 1 game for the senior team so far) has joined Hoffenheim for €6million. Real have put a re-purchase clause in where they could buy him back for an inflated figure though. They are like the anti-Barcelona as far as youth goes.

I don't know how they have structured the deal with AON, or whether they got all the money up front, but in theory, AON would have been paying them 20mil for every year of the contract..
@adrianr, according to the Mirror article, they get 11mil for the first two years from Chevrolet while AON is still the official shirt sponsor, followed by 44mil for the next 7 or 8 years. AON then moves on to become the title sponsors of their business network, whatever that means..

Can we keep this to transfer gossip please, any Rag investment talk can go in the Rag dedicated thread.

Tell yer what made me laugh this morning, reading the papers colum on the text.

Brendan Rodgers unwilling to pay £10 million for Clint Dempsey saying it's too much.

Is it just me that think for a striker who can get 20 a season is a snip at that price.

That's what I thought when I read it. Although he is 29 and might want 50k-a-week for 4yrs, which would then make it an expensive transfer as I can't see him being in L'pools team in 2yrs and they could struggle to get rid

Or perhaps he doesn't think Dempsey will fit into his famous 'Rodgers' way of playing'!!

If I was a L'pool fan I would want ti sign Dempsey. He's a proven player in the Prem and good for 15 goals a season

Same old hijack bollocks with every transfer. Nothing ever changes. Player almost always ends up at the originally touted club.

bang on but its just that fulham doesn't want him to leave easily and Clint wants to go. I hope he goes to liverpool, would only help on for the US national team. Plus he deserves the chance to play with a bigger club before its too late
