I'm highly critical of the decline in civil liberties in this country as well.rick773 said:Let me just log onto my favourite torrent sites and download a few movies on the topic , oh wait they all seem to be blocked here . Also pretty sure America doesn't have CCTV cams on basically every inch of public space . Lets ask mark Duggan what he thinks of the police killing innocent people. Although I'm basically a degenerate gambler I'd hardly use the mid afternoon ladbrokes crowd as an example of freedom. Anyway damn I wasn't trying to defend america's shitty policies or its racist justice system , just that on a personal day to day level America feels more "free" to me than other places I've been.
Your argument would be shite even if it was the case that I was competing with you in a Britain vs US tit-for-tat. Apart from CCTV, America's worse in blocking copyright infringement and far worse in police brutality. You lose by your argument - which was petty and wrong to begin with.
My original question was which country is more free than America . You haven't answered it, instead just posted some freshman who just read a Chomsky book for the first time type shit. My argument wasn't that America was great, i didn't start a USA chant or challenge anyone to pry my gun out of my cold dead hands , I more or less said America sucks less in the personal freedom department based on my personal experience . How long have you lived in the US for?
Lets start with Iceland.
