Thanks for highlighting the July 2025 Planning Amendments - 143447/NMC/2025

As highlighted the main change seems to be that what was marked on L01 as Hospitality with a stack of table & chairs has been replaced with Cross Bar plus extra bogs put in at either end - in the space where as of last home game there was still a handful of the old tables. The Cross Bar space was still open at the last home game and is holding the current temporary GA Bars right at the northern end just outside the old stadium perimeter - but I guess at some point that space will be walled off leaving just a narrow concourse between it and the bogs. I would imagine that they can't wall it in until the two big spaces at L01 that run into the Lobster Claws marked as Concourse north of the two City Kitchen spaces either side of the void (high part of City Hall) are completed otherwise there'll be nowhere for us GA'ers to go at L01.

I notice that the East West elevation page gives a more detailed view of the Sky Walk too - not for the fait hearted!

£23.68 per game. Back row, halfway line, lower tier. Don't know what all the fuss is about. Not forgetting Guinness at £5.53 a pint. Plus watching the greatest team in the world. BARGAIN !

Why have the tread above then?

It was going on for 2 years before that thread started, and was tolerant when "appetite for construction" took over, even though they then decided other discussions were not welcome, and really should have a started a construction thread rather than hijack this one.

It has never really focused on stress analysis or real construction issues, mainly "I don't like how that looks".

There was one of the drone videos a few ago that was shot around dusk and you could see that lights were on so clearly does have power

It was the site owner who posted the news released by City about North Stand relocations and tickets in this thread.

Can someone explain what the stools/pads are on the roof if not for the roof walk. All the plans show the roof walk suspended from the quad pod rather than directly resting on the roof itself. And why are they only on the west-side of the roof?

Its the walkway to the abseiling point i believe

They're on that side as that is where access is from, both from under the new roof (and out of the west side) and for the climbing/abseiling platform near the west tower. They don't however seem to match up with the original plans, so it's a wait and see scenario.

Looks like it is a second more direct route, that hasn't been shown on planning level drawings. If so, it could be used as
- a second route for escape and a more direct return to to the starting room on that side (via the back service stair on the roof of the office block). More in events of emergencies.
- because the route is a cyclical loop that starts and ends at the same place, it could be used on the return to allow the club to stagger groups, i.e one starts at the set access, while the other returns on the diagonal, so there is less waiting time for consecutive tours. Although they would return past BoH areas.
- could be used for services and maintenance only to keep the main route free.

Bear in mind the approval does actually show a second route, although it is a T arrangement to the midpoint of the two quads, rather than a diagonal to one. Maybe they changed that because there was an efficiency structurally as this bears directly onto the beams where the T one was onto the purlins. Worth also noting that there is a height difference of circa 15m between the route on the quads and the same path below it along the skybar.
