Following this mate? What’s the rush for the final home game of the season to open it? Unlikely to be a title deciding game so….. maybe Pep is leaving?

Knowing the tarquins it could be a title deciderWhat’s the rush for the final home game of the season to open it? Unlikely to be a title deciding game so….. maybe Pep is leaving?
The sooner the club can get it functioning and open, the sooner they can start making money from it. I'd imagine it's nothing deeper than that, and those speculating about needing a new stand open for one game to wave Pep goodbye are perhaps overthinking things somewhat. What’s the rush for the final home game of the season to open it? I'm now fairly certain its around funding. Sisk are getting paid for the premium time and have a penalty around not meeting the end of the season as part of a DOV.We know for a fact that it was always planned to open this season. Both the club and Sisk publicly said it.
For arguement's sake if it wasn't, 'Pep leaving' could in theory have been used as a reason to try bring a contracted date forward, but practically on something of this scale and cost, such a ballache and expense, with a huge safety consideration, that I doubt it would have been enough or worth it.
Plus, no way the club share something that sensitive with a contractor in charge of so many hairy arsed builders, it would be impossible to keep a lid on.
But immaterial, as we do know they (that's Sisk, not the club) are simply throwing what is needed at it to hit the last possible chance of achieving a pre determined deadline.
Could be their penalties kick in if they miss it, could be that's as far as the extensions of time can take them. Or as mentioned by BS, it is a condition of the funding, which is by far the most believable.
Tolmie being a passionate blue will be living and breathing every thought and emotion, and his habit of sharing that with his followers may set a few off and add to the already rampant rumours. Pep may even end up leaving, but I do think in this case, any chance of the two being deliberately and knowingly linked, is insignificant if not impossible.

I'd imagine Tolmie is getting his information from this thread.
I agree, the plan has been Villa since late 2025, if Pep does leave, which i dont think he will it will just be a coincidence.Maybe, but a big push and commitment for the villa game would have trickled through to lots of people. Similarly, the amplified speculation around Pep's future is there just now (I'll keep that for that thread and not derail this one). But in this case I really do think this particular 2 and 2 makes 22 - and not 4.

I love a bit of common sense on bluemoon. The sooner the club can get it functioning and open, the sooner they can start making money from it. That on Twitter mate? I don’t go on that cesspit thank god! I was just thinking it was strange to push it for the sake of it unless it was going to be Peps last game and they named it after him?
With the dates of the test event its only possible imo if palace is moved to the 20th May and used as a test event for half capacity.Agree. I'll mention again that I still personally think we'll see something before the Villa game. That has been my gut feeling for some time and I have not yet seen anything that would make me rethink that. Could be wrong, and they might not even fancy trying it. But I don’t think it is beyond possiblity myself.
Just watched the video, the only new images I could spot are as follows

Bit strange in the main video that the South Stand has a fourth screen, and on a photo on the pitch views, it does not

They can’t leave as it is surely? Looks a right mess on top. If not a screen they could maybe box it in somehow?@tailspin747 raised the point of the new comms box looking like an eyesore

They could cover most of the comms box and the roof works by installing a split LED screen.
This helps the club generate income and gives the ground the four screens that everyone wanted
The company behind the double advertisement boards is going to be on site shortly to install the screens at the hotels and office block, they could sort this area out as well
