North Stand Construction Discussion

Increase in match day revenue. Which the club wants.

How many away seats are in SSL2? Let’s say 1000 for arguments sake. Probably slightly less?

1000x£30 = £3000. £3000x19 = £570,000.

If the SSL2 away end was turned into a City end.

Let’s go for an average of £60. Arsenal is currently £77 a seat.

1000x£60 = £60000. £6000x19 = £1,140,000.

£570,000 more per season. It will be more due to more expensive tickets, and maybe hospitality? City could quite easily make £1mill more a season from the away section on SSL2 than they do now.

Hellocity recently complained about the long queues of people waiting to get up to SSL3. Giving the current away end over to City fans would open another entrance and exit to SSL3. 1000+ away fans are currently using that entrance and exit.
Additionally, if City developed an 'away fans zone' in a tented village, on the triangle of land that abuts the coach park/ANR & ATW, the sale of F&B could be worth additional £££s and possibly goodwill from other clubs, particularly if away fans are advised to alight the metro at ASDA/ANR and straight into the away zone.

Finally, the police/licencing authorities may be in favour of having away fans in one location next to the stadium, rather than spread round the area/Central Manchester.

I wouldn't worry about it. We'll have been down to the North West Counties League and back to the PL before there's a shovel in the ground.

Lol!

Correction.

Foster isn’t designing the stadium.

The overall proposal is similar to the Etihad Campus, plans for the Collar site, now Holt Town.

Foster + Partners is set to be appointed by Manchester United to develop a masterplan for the Old Trafford Stadium District, covering the Club-owned land that surrounds the existing stadium.

The focus will be to design a world-class football destination and home for Manchester United fans, coupled with a wider masterplan comprising mixed-use developments which will benefit the local community, attract new residents, increase job provision, and make it a vibrant destination for visitors from Manchester, the UK and all around the world.

They want to be us.

Jesus, the tram system can’t cope with our fans let alone starting to promote the away fans using it!!

Off topic. Details in the Rag thread and a link.

Hmmm.

World-renowned global architecture studio, Foster + Partners, is set to be appointed by Manchester United to develop a masterplan for the Old Trafford Stadium District, covering the Club-owned land that surrounds the existing stadium

Fosters aren't what they used to be.

There’d have to be some reconfiguring of the entrances and exits, but it’s definitely doable. And the away coach park would still be accessible for all the away fans coming out of L1.

We’ll find out in the future. The Rags could have gone for a cheaper option. It’s another good PR story as well. To add to all the other good PR stories. A Manchester lad. One of the most famous architects in the world. Involved in the design and redevelopment of Old Trafford.

They already use it....and enjoy being twats on JMW, around the CB coach welcome, and the forecourt area.

Advise those users to alight at ASDA/ANR and go straight into the security zone via a new entrance at the junction of ATW/ANR adjacent to the Nexon Bridge.

Anyone know what happened to the North Stand Expansion thread?

Any reconfiguration will be minimal as most of the access/egress points currently exist.

The security fence would require moving, along with the internal segregation barriers/walls, but it would probably be a case of re using rather than renewing.

Shifting away fans off the metro at ASDA/ANR straight in to the security zone via new entrances will be a benefit to everyone.

Where there's a will there's a way !!
