North Stand Construction Discussion

I've been down to the Etihad this morning and taken a full construction site set of pictures. :-)

I'll post the pictures early tomorrow morning.

I'll post the camera phone pictures first, which are mainly panoramic pictures of the stand, the hotel, and the construction site.

Then I'll post the camera pictures, which are mainly pictures of the hotel, close up pictures of the stand, and pictures of the construction workers working on the stand.

The camera pictures are cropped, photoshopped, and are ready to be posted, but I haven't got time to post them right now. I need to enhance the camera pictures, which I'll do tomorrow morning..

I had a walk round to the site after the game… it’s a huge development. Very impressive. You chose a beautiful morning to grab some photographs. Look forward to seeing them.

That's why I went down this morning. On the flip side, it isn't great shooting into the Sun, along with Sun flare. Thankfully there were a few clouds floating about in the sky that blocked out the Sun.

The new sail/fin looks identical to the sail/fin that was taken down. I'll post a picture of it and let you and others decide. I certainly can't tell any difference in the old and new sail/fin.

I imagine the are only to hold the panels to the mock up frame, I doubt they will be on the build.

If only. But I highly doubt that.

Think that is how they are, and if approved in this format, will be.

Bearing in mind the sails will be open to the elements , I fail to see that these screwed together sails are any thing more than a “mock up “ surely ( hopefully ! ) the final product will be a one piece moulded weatherproof item ??

Generally, the mock-up should be pretty much an exact replica of what the finish and fixing detail will be. Otherwise it defeats the purpose of it, and makes the condition the way it is worded harder to discharge. Makes it harder to use as a control sample on site as well. The point of it is to be what it will be, so I really doubt it will look anything other than what ends up approved.

That's not to say it can't still change though, before it is signed off.

It was a running joke for some time, I recon he though the post was fishing for the joke rather than genuinely asking.

But in short for the benefit of others, it is not too far from the stand, it won't move, and now that the connections in place the previous perception of it being too far back is kind of gone.
