North Stand Construction Discussion

The weather is looking good for most of the day for the lift.

Snow fall is predicted for Monday evening through to Tuesday. Weather warning!

That can't happen. The Police ensure the three tiers can be managed easily to allow flow back to the away coach park.

Handing the East Stand Lower to away fans would cause chaos on so many fronts.

There hasn't been any suggestion to my knowledge of handing ESL1 to away fans.

The suggestion is to shift them to the corner immediately adjacent to SSL1 (round the corner flag).

Access/egress would be via K1/K2 directly into the coach park following a slightly extended/realigned security fence line.

It most certainly can be achieved at little cost and with NO relaxation of security/segregation/H&S.

IMO there are only upsides for the club and it needs pushing so we finally have a permanent matchday set up for the long term.

Of course it can be done. The police excuse doesn't wash with me. Our ground is actually one of the only ones where the away fans are funnelled into a car park. At Old Trafford, Anfield, Arsenal, Chelsea etc. etc. you are just thrown out into the middle of the home fans

If it is on police advice, City should be calling bullshit as they police that lot across the road completely differently.

I actually think it's City not giving a shit. But in keeping them where they are, they are handing over noise advantage. At Spurs and Anfield now, you can't get songs going because you are surrounded on 4 sides by the home fans. It is absolutely what we should be doing at the Etihad.

There isn’t any evidence GMP would oppose moving the away fans from SSL3 to Blocks 111 and 110, due to access issues to the coach park.

As I’ve already shown with my pictures a few weeks back, away fans can be moved to blocks 111 and 110 as they would still have direct access to the away coach park, just like the away fans do in SSL1.

I’m trying to think of another PL away end that has direct access to a coach park for away fans. I can’t think of one. In fact, there aren’t that many away ends across English football that do, if any?

Over to you CP Overview and SS Skies. Looking forward to the drone videos.

I’ll nip down tomorrow as well and get some more pictures. Hopefully I’ll catch the lift in progress. If not, I’ll get some pictures of the steel structure in place.
I will be there from 6.30am and can hang around until 3.30pm ish, so hopefully will get this, 2 drones, 6 batteries!
Back up plan if is raining is to film it from the ground so have 2 cameras for that!
SSskies is usually working in the day so he might get the later on footage

I could only think of Stoke. Brighton maybe too but at the rest, you mix with the home fans.

No rain. See weather post above, if you have missed it? Going to be a nice day according to the ITV regional weather news. Rain, then snow is coming in on Monday evening.

I did think of Stoke. Burnley as well, but the Police close off a whole road adjacent to the away end for the away coaches. United and Newcastle United have to be 2 of the worst.

Best get back to topic.
