North Stand Construction Discussion

Exactly! You’d be surprised at some of the Joes patrons… and who they are/were ;-)
So what's the difference in season ticket pricing ? Its meant to be a home end all together not pick and choose what you pay to where you seat ! Can you imagine Liverpool doing this at the Kopp ! Even United have removed there corporate/hospitality area from behind the Streford End in an attempt to improve the atmosphere!

Jerez complaints at this too smh , you realise we need to make money to watch the type of football we watch nowadays right ?

I don’t think a few 100 hospitality seats that might be another Joe’s ‘located right at the front of L2‘ will finance an Erling Haaland or Jude Bellingham transfer. But those seats would certainly improve the atmosphere and the spectacle in the North stand.

TBF you’re only the 2nd person to come up with that argument today, which is understandable.

Tickets remain for the last 3 home games.

The saddest part of anything we do is the affordability. Even now, 4 tickets (2 adults and 2 kids) for Leeds match is £184.00, but you need a membership that's £35. Plus the increases by the time that stand is complete. It'll be interesting to see how attendances go across the Premier League in the next decade. With the pinch on finances I wonder if we'll see Italian style attendances. 60% full for rubbish games and full for the big ones?

Same could be said for each corporate/hospitality seat across the stadium they all mount up .
Its not an argument that they should be there , just I wouldn't moan about them being there, I approached the money being spent on the stadium to bring us to another level .
As for only being the 2nd person it's a bit like the pre and match thread the moaners are always more vocal :)

From reading through and seeing these pics, front of L2 is definitely corporate done in the style of Joes (it actually uses this description) to try softening it & make it more acceptable
Bloody hell, that’s absolutely shite.

This basically looks like a hospitality/corporate expansion with fragmented areas for normal fans with no genuine thought about it being a proper home vocal stand.

I’m pissed off with the club about this.

Ultimately the club has two choices:

- squeeze every penny they can
- allow fans to create an atmospheric end

It’s one or the other.

Which of the two do you think will:

1. Help the team win games
2. Attract new fans
3. Build the reputation of the club
4. Attract sponsorship deals
5. Instill a sense of pride amongst the club

The model to work off is Dortmund. Fans travel from all over the world to watch the Yellow Wall. Do you think they’d pop 600 posh seats in the key position? No chance.

Let’s say those seats generate an extra £600k per season. Is it genuinely worth it? Is there not more to football than revenue? Could the incredible brains employed by city not figure a way to expand the existing hospitality sections (e.g. SSL2?)

The next time Pep calls out the fans… LOL

True.

But how many hospitality and corporate areas is enough? There are 2 planned for the back of of NSL2.

The club have known for a long time that the fans wanted this to be a proper home end. And by a proper home they knew exactly want we meant and wanted. It is our last chance to create that. Putting a hospitality area at the front of NSL2 isn’t creating a proper singing and boisterous home end.

Another point.

Where exactly is a dedicated singing block/section going to go on NSL2 that the fans want? Does anyone think the club will Facilitate that? Not a chance.

In your feedback to the club via the questionnaire, did any off you ask for a hospitality area at the front of NSL2? (no, neither did I)

Cheers Danny!

You and the other City directors have well and truly shafted the fans on this one.

Danny Wilson.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our fans and the local community for their participation in our recent consultation, not only for completing the questionnaire but sharing their detailed comments and feedback with us, all of which has been carefully reviewed and considered.

My wording was almost exactly this; ‘This is an opportunity to have a proper vocal stand for City fans for the first time in a generation. This might be the final chance in our lifetimes to get this right. Make the huge second tier of the new North Stand something special. No corporates, no hospitality, no tourists, no day-trippers, £350 for all adult season tickets in NSL2, £35 for all adult matchday tickets in NSL2… safe standing, banners, flags… let’s make this special’.

This could have been iconic, now it’s more like they’ve been taking the Mick.

How much extra is the Hotel going to bring in?
How much extra is the 3000 capacity fan plaza going to bring in full of bars and restaurants?
How much extra is a much bigger and better stocked souvenir shop going to bring in?
How much extra is a new museum and enhanced museum tour going to bring in?
How much extra are 9000+ seats going to bring in?
How much extra is a skywalk going to bring in?
How much extra are Additional restaurants, bars, food and drink outlets going to bring in?
So why is there a need to put a few hundred hospitality seats at the front of our new NSL2 home end?
