North Stand Construction Discussion

How can you say it’s ‘normal’ fans? It’s not… it’s fans who can afford stupid prices for shite food and an extra comfy, padded seat.

‘Normal’ fans don’t spend that much. ‘Normal’ fans do not buy a hospitality season ticket.

We already have tons of ‘hospitality’ and they are the most sparsely attended areas of the stadium - hardly conducive to a good atmosphere!!
I’m a normal fan, done my time on terraces up and down country. Now my circumstances dictate I have no choice but to use Joes. I’m not rich or posh, wish I was still able to go in South Stand with my mates. Former inhabitant of Block 212

Your wrong mate, plenty of people can afford 93.20 and Joes, it's basically a bar with basic food, hardly the Ritz...
This is where all the angst comes from. Posters who haven’t tried Joes, think it’s like the Tunnel Club. It’s not much different from the bar in the South Stand really. The food isn’t anything extra ordinary. Pies, Burgers, Chips n Gravy and a pint of Ashai

Here are some pictures of our own hospitality area in the South Stand at the Etihad:

Look at the packed vocal area below it, then see the empty seats in the hospitality section above the score/time below and under ‘Etihad Stadium’.

This area is rarely full at the start of games so would ruin pre-match displays, it’s always half empty from about 35-55 minutes and is always one of the first areas to empty at the end of games.

I’ve also posted some of my own pictures of it a few pages ago.

Here’s another one, it’s actually full at the start of a game for once, but with only a handful of people bothering holding up their display cards.

And this is the sort of thing they’re looking at putting at the front of what we thought was going to be a new special vocal stand. It’s simply not the right area for it and there are plenty of other areas they could put more hospitality.
That is Legends… and is the upper end of hospitality. They are wined and dined with a 3 course meal and refreshments at HT & FT. That’s why it’s late to fill up and empty earlier. This should never have been located there… definitely what some of you would refer to as ‘corporate’, but definitely not GA +

You could be correct. The proposed hospitality bar could be similar to another Ardwick, Joe’s, etc.

The Ardwick.

The Ardwick bar, for example, or a similar bar at the front of L2 will probably have a similar price point, which would exclude the general GA (demographics) fan from going in there.

I can afford some of those prices to a point, ie, West Ham, but I couldn’t justify paying that for a match, bar maybe a 1 off special occasions like a Birthday, etc.

During months of conversations about the stand on this thread nobody mentioned or discussed the possibility of a hospitality section at the front of L2.

It never even entered my mind, let alone thinking the club would come up with a hospitality section at the front of L2 after all the positive and well thought out feedback we‘ve given the club over the months via this thread, which Danny Wilson and the club have read.
Ardwick and Joes are priced differently. I think Ardwick ( and Kits) is meant to be a bit more upmarket than Joes & 93:20. They are far more expensive

Are those prices for season tickets? I thought Joes, etc was priced on a match by match bases, rather then season tickets.
Mostly season tickets in Joes. Never been able to buy extra tickets for any game, though I’ve tried.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say there will be no hospitality (and there never was any intention of making it corporate for the really hard of reading) at the front of level 2, zero, zilch, nada.

Can people calm down now and stop boring everyone?
I think you’re right
