North Stand Construction Discussion

but no proof?
You can't provide the proof when the people with the proof are keeping the proof to themselves.

If City aren't selling home and away tickets to 3rd party ticket touting websites the club can prove that and kill the rumors and accusations dead straight away by being open and honest about where the away and home tickets are going, even as a percentage of distributed tickets, but they won't.

Viagogo was one of the clubs sponsors and ticket resellers once. What do you think the financial tie up was? What did Viagogo get out of the sponsorship deal?

If you click on the Viagogo link in the 2012 OS article it still takes you to the Viagogo City ticket page where you can buy tickets for the Wolves and West Ham games at ridiculous prices. Have a look.

I have no idea how it works, never been on a tout site, and it is probably not for this thread either. But while it is rolling I'll ask now rather than pulling it back to this when we are discussing something more relevant later.

Why would the club sell tickets to tout sites? Presumably they can't get more for tickets, and if they can they can't put it through the books.

I can get them selling cup ticket games on a free for all basis and that pissing regular going blues off not having first dibs. But can't see the benefit of the club selling to touts. If they did, it is not like they would admit it, so the calls for transparency would fall flat either way.

Clearly touting is an issue though, not just out club. Not just football or sports either.

Either way, I doubt they are building this stand to intentionally sell tickets to touts.
I’ve no idea what’s happening with these tickets, but for the club to be recruiting somebody for a ticket compliance job suggests to me 2 things. First the club think there is a problem, secondly they don’t know what’s happening with tickets either, if the club themselves were selling them why would they employ somebody to investigate themselves ?

If City won’t say why not ask the match going fans with half half scarves where they got their ticket from?

I‘m probably misunderstanding!

They will not investigate themselves, they will seek out the Touts who obtain single tickets or maybe sometimes pairs who in the main got from Fans. They will penalise these Fans who in some instances might not know their ticket is being resold. They will go after someone who might use a concession when it should be an adult. They will then say they have done something about it. Smokescreen.

There's a post I've read I think on bluemoon where the poster listed a seat on the exchange and then spoke to the lad who had bought it at the match and they said they got it from live football tickets.

I've asked fans at away games, same answer.

We know for a fact we had a link with Viagogo it's fairly clear to me we have one now with live football tickets.

This^. Let’s go back to the 80s. Swales at the helm, club losing money hand over fist, North Stand scoreboard broken, team pretty dire, and we cash in on any talent we develop but safe standing on the Kippax just watch out for the bogs.
Isn't it possible to aim for the best of both worlds. Success. Great facilities. A decent stand that gives people the experience they want? Criticising pricing decisions or organisational skills, or the new stand management isn't being ungrateful, it's just not wanting to lie down like a sad irrelevant nobody and accept poor decisions being made. Being critical of the bad decisions the suits make isn't being anti city in any way.

They're money grabbers who have brought a lot of success, but that doesn't excuse some of the bad stuff they do. People that criticise are actually just trying to make things better.....imo
