North Stand Construction Discussion

I must have skipped a few pages as it seems to have rocketed up overnight. I presume when the Sky Bridge is up and connected they'll crack on with the office block? Or is it the new roof first and then the office block?

They are almost treated as separate and unrelated builds from what I can see, at these stages. Different teams and types of construction, they don't get in each other's way and don't need to overlap till the final bits connecting them are ready.

Once the skybar bridging element goes on, in conjunction with the terracing, it will be full steam ahead on the new stand roof and quad pod structures. The office will continue level by level simultaneously. As I see it so far.

I would assume today is a day off for everyone across the construction site, regardless of who they work for? The only people I saw onsite yesterday were the Sarens people, some Sisk people, and security. I didn’t see or hear any work taking place.

I assume the two orange straps will be attached to the tower cranes either side of the towers and the mobile crane will be attached centrally (??) to adjust the position of the girder ??

I’ve zoomed into a few of the pictures showing the straps. The quality of the pictures do suffer, but you can make the straps out better, and where, and how they are positioned on the steel frame.

For the drone lads tomorrow it will all be about timing. I'm guessing the critical parts of the lift are filming the 'start of the lift', and the 'attachment', either side of maneuvering it into place. It's going to be a long day chaps. :-)
The actual lift should take long it's the bolting up which will take longest

Yeah ligning it all up and connecting it will be where the time goes. Also at what point they remove the temporary red ends, presumably on the ground before they start the lift. There will be a bit of time in that alone.

When do you think the actual lift will start and finish, considering it’s going to be a 6:30am start? I can nip down in the mid afternoon. I won’t bother if the lift is over by then.

It is pure and complete guesswork.

If it is a 6.30 start there will be some time in briefing and planning for the day, making sure everyone is there and knows what they are doing. Plus drinking all the tea, having bacon baps and calling union reps etc (right @jimharri?). The actual lifting might start around 8ish or so when the daylight breaks. I would imagine, if I was trying to guess.
