North Stand Construction Discussion

On a serious note, as it seems the rake will be the same as the existing NS2 (shallow) and it has 1500 more seats than SS3 (much steeper rake) then will the back seats be further away than the back of SS3?

Hellocity will hook you up, don't you worry.

We should maybe think of pinning an FAQ page here though.

The rake/pitch of the slope is the same on the south stand as well btw. I.e the SS one isn't any steeper.

It is only a bit higher and further forward because it is an additional tier on top of tier 2, where as this one joins into tier 2. Rather than a difference of the rake.

Do you know how many levels of food/ beer outlets there will be.
I'm guessing the original on level one plus 3 more levels for the new stand before the hotel, sky bar etc.
If yes that's 4 in total compared to the the South Stand with 3, one for each tier.No doubt that's where corporate comes into it?

Sorry meant to respond to this but slipped by.

See below level by level for ease, but as a summary it is an additional capacity for around 12,420 punters with access to various bars on different levels. Of which 500ish is the sky bar (true) hospitality and 300-600 is the GA+ on L1 of tier 2. Excluding the suite/bedroom level which is probably a capacity of circa 50.

Plus then the additional 'city square' covered area outside which has a capacity of 2800-3000 to gather.

The Ground Level (the bottom one in the set below) itself is also vastly expanded, onto the existing. If you follow the obvious curve, that's the existing everything beyond that is additional. Plus then the upper levels.

The hospitality element is about 8% of the overall bar/concourse offering including the GA+. Less than 5% as true hospitality on the top level. Similar propositions as the seats themselves in the stand.

It is an interesting video from Everton showing them around their new ground, their new South Stand is their home end it features at 7.28 in the video. Well done to Everton for their videos during the building of their new stadium

Thanks for the comprehensive answer. I had kind of forgotten about City Hall as well as City Square. So it looks as though the general punter will be able to pass through City Sq into City Hall within the stand or go up a level to another large set of outlets.
Thanks again for the explanation.

To be fair, building a new stadium is going to draw a lot more interest than expanding one, even if it is part of a wider development like ours.

You can see just by this thread, there aren't significant numbers of people interested in watching construction updates. I'm sure you'd have a fair few more if we were building from scratch.

The thread has 14 thousand replies, and we’re well over a year away from the project being completed. So you can just imagine how many views the thread has had. Is there any way of finding out that figure?

Colin told me the viewing figures for his CP Overview videos on YouTube have increased substantially during the build as more and more people get to know about the build and the videos.

But you are right in the fact that a newly built stadium will always attract more viewers and clicks than a stadium and stand that is being expanded.

If United ever build their new tax payer stadium the viewing figures for that build on YouTube will be huge. There will be a YouTube drone war. With plenty of money to be made via YouTube and other social media websites like Tik-Tok, Facebook, Instagram, X, etc.

You probably remember? According to Danny Wilson, via Tim, the location of those GA+ seats on NSL2 seats hasn’t been decided yet. That’s what I think Tim posted on the thread after the OSC presentation. Tim will confirm if I’m right or if I’m wrong,
