North Stand Construction Discussion

Another full page article in The Times today regarding Utd’s proposed stadium. Hardly seen anything about our developments in the media from the day it was announced to where we are up to now.

Do we have a PR team ? Why aren’t journalists being invited to look around - show the world what is being built ??

Great vid CP. The whole skybar 'cage' now seems complete, including that missing horizontal that was intriguing me. I might have to put it down to simply being missed out while it was on the ground and rather than delaying the big lift, added later on. Also now pretty clear to see how it curves in both directions.

Other small things worth noticing, the first waterproofing layer has started on the east end of the hotel roof. The west tower has had the platform scaffolding around the cable anchor removed and this clamp arrangement is now much more obvious. The east tower is still there but looks like they have started dismantling it. The splice connection plates on the sky bar truss have not yet been coated, I would assume due to the recent temperatures, as below 5deg, the intumescent won't stick to the steel. There seem to be two additional site cabins added within the stand itself either end of the level the previous boxes were. With more going on in there in terms of connections. The eastern side of the terracing seems to be going faster than the west. The office block moving at pace, again there is a temperature below which concrete won't pour, so that might go slower than the hotel did over the winter months.
