North Stand Construction Discussion

Off topic, but relates to the hotel, and bodes well for strong demand and occupancy rates.

A three-storey upward extension providing an additional 54 rooms is proposed at the Atkinson Street building.

KE Hotels has submitted an application to Manchester City Council to make Moxy Manchester bigger, citing strong demand and high occupancy rates since the hotel opened in 2021.

Fins there, of sorts.

Where are the turnstiles for the new North Stand? If they’re not at either side of the new fanzone won’t the queues to get into the stand interfere with the fanzone area?
I think its same place they were, you just you have to walk through the new square to get to it .
there was a picture somewhere on here that showed it I think

The more this build progresses the more confused I am by the sample panel , the panel shows facework to both sides ?? I understand the bwk. Is only to the hotel ground floor but you can now see blockwork appearing ??

I don't remember seeing blockwork (probably there just didn't pay attention) but just in case people look at the ground floor gable of the hotel, those are large format taped insulation boards.

Hypothetical, but if they hadn’t built the hotel and retail buildings they could have designed the towers to be a landmark feature of the stadium similar to the old Wembley. Would have been a great visual approaching Etihad Towers from the bottom of Joe Mercer Way.

Can’t really complain with what we’re getting though!

I think that's what they are trying with the two claws and the gables, is it not?

Another full page article in The Times today regarding Utd’s proposed stadium. Hardly seen anything about our developments in the media from the day it was announced to where we are up to now.

Do we have a PR team ? Why aren’t journalists being invited to look around - show the world what is being built ??
They are not interested in what we are doing. They are desperate for City to go away. They will not be giving us any publicity.

Check SS skies Latest offering. On back side of hotel opposite the east tower

Definitely think the big screens will look good in their own way. Not just for the football either - imagine walking up Joe Mercer Way to watch a concert at Co-op Live and the screens are playing footage of the artist with their music coming from the City Square speakers. Will definitely draw people in who maybe didn’t know much about the area before.
