Think the important word in that statement is “rumoured”When you have the money you can have both? Dont forget, ADUG when they first turned up were rumoured to have hated the look at the stadium and wanted to knock it down and build something spectacular but got turned down?
Im sure when they develop the arena/canal side shopping restaurant area Joe Mercer Way will be developed and included in the whole thing.Just few screen grabs of the roof and the Etihad stadium.
I have to say, it does look quite impressive when you see the whole of the Etihad stadium, including the new stand, and the 2 claws from the air. Especially the view down Joe Mercer Way, above the North stand.(last picture)
I hope the club will do something with Joe Mercer Way and make it a walking destination towards the new North stand. Maybe images of all City's grounds throughout the history of the club?

Test events could even be a limited number of seats sold for a league game in the new standWhat sort of Test Events can we expect leading up to the January 2026 opening?
Presumably some of the Women's and Academy games will be played there with controlled numbers (as well as deliberately Empty Seats). Those are the sort of events Spurs and Everton held for their new stadia.
Absolutely and it’s why our last game this season is away We have already had to pinch some days to fit the Bournemouth match in and probably why it’s a Tuesday and not a WednesdayIs it likely that city have asked for an away game first game of next season to crack on with the work over summer?
