North Stand Construction Discussion

just watched colin's latest video and whilst looking at the empty corner he said hes heard the 4th screen is coming, excellent!
Yeah, it would have looked really odd with only 3 screens.

4 screens was always going to be the the sensible and obvious outcome. What a stadium.

And the Rags and Scousers haven't got 1 screen between themselves.

Happy 1000th page, everyone! :-)

Nothing I’ve heard or anything (I’d prefer a 4th screen) but someone on here who revealed a screen would go in the south east corner a couple of months back also said that the other corner would be reconfigured for extra seating.

Fingers crossed it’s actually another screen though and those corners can be finally covered up!

I doubt all that scaffolding would be there, plus more to come, if it wasn't another screen.

A serious question.

A bit off topic, but it does include the North stand redevelopment.

Once everything is completed, will we, City, have the best stadium in the PL?

In my opinion only Spurs and Everton might have better stadiums? Might?

1 spurs
2 city
3 Everton

for me that is how I rank them , city stadium great but spurs no 1 as its massive and has swappable pitches and more tiers , once the east and Colin upgraded for city then we will be on top but that's not happening anytime soon.
Everton no 3 as its a new build and its great but not quite top notch

Roughly the same capacity as the Etihad.

Having more tiers isn’t a good thing either as it splits the fans up even more. They’ve got two mini tiers inbetween the top & bottom and combined they hold less than our middle tier - which isn’t even that big.

No doubt it’s the better facility overall though.

Did you forget "The Theatre of Dreams"?

Can anyone confirm or not if the away section seating on SSL2 has been expanded slightly over to the left, and now is above the edge of block 111 below, or was it like that last season?

If you remember, that was noticed on the this seasons season ticket seat planner.

The seat layout above is different to the seat planner layout on the OS?

Been that way since the South Stand 3rd tier opened to cater for the correct away numbers. See this photo from the latter stages of that build. You can see the new stairway on there. It's not a fan access stairway. It's the steps where the stewards stand or sit between the home and away end.

Today’s video shows a load of scaffolding piled up in the corner and on the video, I’m sure he says a screen is going in??0
Is there any evidence outside the stadium in the south west corner to suggest another screen e.g. a cordoned off area with more scaffolding to come or even steelwork for the frame similar to the south east corner? 3 screens will look odd so let's hope its a 4th but I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be something else.

Due to the expanded capacity, City will have to increase the away allocation, which should be 5%, upto 3000, so they’ve expanded into block 112 as we gave around 2900 to away fans previously.
There's no change this season to away allocation, we give over 3000 which is all away teams are entitled to.

The away section in 212 has been there for a good few years now.

Spurs is almost unbeatable. No expense spared.

City number 2.
