North Stand Construction Discussion

Conspiracy theory - the banners don’t go all the way to the bottom because they’ll open a few rows of seats before the rest of the stand officially opens

Conspiracy theory number 2.

City might leave the banners on the seats that have been completed, so keeping a completely seated NS tier covered until it’s ready to be made public, including a new City badge or logo across the centre seats?

Be worth digging up the same picture from the last home game of last season. There will be a big big difference.
No, it'll still be full of empty seats ;-)

Looking forward to it today as haven't been around it since last season, but mainly looking forward to the new screen at the other end so I can actually see what everyone else gets to watch - repeats of the Spurs goals

The new banners makes it look nicer on match days then just having concrete terraces

On one of the club videos the presenter mentioned the new roof will ramp up the noise level significantly. Never sure if that's just someone gone into marketing hyper bull shit mode. We'll hear the reality today ie if the acoustic design of the new roof amplifies the crowd noise, and that's before 7K additional punters all signing classics like "Follow, follow, follow City's taking the piss and you know..."

Of course it will increase noise. It is pointing in a different (the right) direction for noise for one. The previous roof, rhe noisiest bit was taken up by the old hospitality, this one tucks the vip bits behind.

Obviously the roof itself won't generate the noise, that will be the 8000 extra fans, but the roof the way it is shaped and when insulated and finished, should do its part to amplify and direct that noise, that bit is not just PR.

They probably could have done that already by moving the hoarding up if they wanted to.

There's a colourful diagram in the PA showing that. I think?

New adjustable barriers maybe to increase height at concerts (ie the recent fall tragedy at Wembley) or a requirement for hosting European finals?

Late 2026 is being mentioned often as the date when all constructions will be finished. What is being built currently, the hotel? I heard we're aiming for 61-63k seats. Did the North Stand expansion create that or do we need to wait for late 2026 for that to happen as well?

Edit: Should've known, yes the North Stand will expand it for around 8k seats but it's not open yet. Late 2026 is when the hotel and North Stand opening will happen.
