North Stand Construction Discussion

I pop on this thread regularly, hoping that someone will mention when this stand is actually opening, but I can’t see any reference to it anywhere. It was meant to be ‘early 2026’. Does anybody know which match will be its first?

It gets asked every couple of pages Bert so cant be that regular
The answer for sure is no one knows, the best we have is as @Centurions said

Think they will already have decided , can’t see it open till next season ???

I still expect it to be this season. Last couple games of the season including test events, a CL home game too if we are still in it. Maybe FA cup too. That's just my gut take. But there must be a point when that comfort goes out the window.

I'd swear blind that I read somewhere a long time ago that the stand was supposed to be open for the start of the season, though others on here reckon I was wrong. I don't think so, but whatever. It was definitely supposed to be open for January. It seems to be dragging on. And on. And on. When did work actually commence on the project; the summer of '24?

Was never scheduled for start of this season, the old roof which was removed during the close season so that was pretty much on schedule, then they had to start the cladding and the rest of the new construction again that seemed on scheduled I doubt it was ever scheduled for 2025

The build has been beset with delays and issues from the start, starting with underground issues and piling issues, to endless build issues. It's very similar to what happened to the Coop Live Arena build, externally and internally.

I'm not saying Sisk will make a loss on the build as nobody knows the finer details of the build contract, but the longer the build drags on, the more likely that might happen.

From memory, confirmed on Google AI and on the City website, Sisk had a set price build of £300mill. £350mill also comes to mind. Others on here maybe able to confirm the set price build cost?

Google AI.

BAM Construction lost over £40 million on the Co-op Live arena project due to spiraling costs, which rose from £365 million to over £400 million. The firm faced significant losses, reported to be around £20 million in the first half of 2024, driven by project delays, supply chain issues, and technical, building-related setbacks.
