The boards in the middle need moving now :)
Old Trafford to Piccadilly station is twice the distance of the Etihad to Piccadilly. They might have a lot of tram stops but there's still only one line into Manchester
Impossible to tell from that low angle. Are we saying the 3 or 4 rows behind the temporary hoarding are now installed ???
Just what I thought !Impossible to tell from that low angle.
I’ve said before that all parties will be waiting to see how the North Stand facilities work out in helping with the flow of passengers via the trams. City themselves will surely want people to hang around after the match to eat and drink and this might have a positive impact, so it’s probably too early to know exactly what is needed for the future.I doubt if Burnham has even read that letter sent by one of his minions. The letter is a joke isn't it? His solution to solve the transport shambles is "more trams." To put it into context the volume of people leaving the expanded Eithad Stadium plus Co-op live on a gig night is 86,000. The same size as a major event at Wembley Stadium. How many of those will enter the very small space between the North Stand (complete with hotel and City Hall, the Co-op live arena, and the Metro Station. Will they enter that area (as happens now) from opposite directions alongside the queue for the tram stop and the bridge? There is no mention at all of this area at all in the transport strategy plans which were included in the North Stand planning documents. Just a disaster waiting to happen. Just like all the warnings about the MEN arena were ignored before the attack.
Fair play to you. Not sure I'll be able to do it. If I'm still around!I can still do it as I approach my 80’th birthday but it is a bit of a faff these days. I would much prefer a world class transport system but that is just a pipe dream.
I really hope they are not "waiting to see" how the facilities work out. They should have robust plans in place and this should have been done five years ago. The North Stand expansion should be happening in the next couple of months so everything should be in place by now. It is pretty obvious that the safety of football fans is given a low priority in the UK. The buck stops with Burnham for transport in this region and he doesn't seem to give a toss. Have people already forgotten what happened at the MEN arena?I’ve said before that all parties will be waiting to see how the North Stand facilities work out in helping with the flow of passengers via the trams. The plans to add a turnback between Ashton and Velopark would enable more Campus to Piccadilly trams (I’d like a turnback at the Gardens - or SPQ - as well to enable a proper shuttle service between the two but that’s unlikely) so there are ideas being floated. Not to mention tram-train on the Ashbury line (better frequency).
It’s not all bad news and all the above is far further on than LexStar’s idea which would take 20 years to investigate, discuss, fund and build.
Also the Sandhills stop is “only” 5 years away.
But nobody is going to use it especially the south standers. When those boards come down it’s going to be an absolute beauty from the inside of the ground.
Atatürk Olympic Stadium says hello.Andy Burnham was repeatedly warned about imminent pressures with Co-op Live and development at the campus. He did nothing. The area has new schools, houses, an arena, a 60,000 stadium. The parking has been restricted and the trunk road capacity reduced. There is dangerous overcrowding on the Metrolink. Now Holt Town is being developed. Walking back to Picadilly at night is not an option for young families or people with health issues. It is a disgrace. There can’t be any other large stadium in Europe with such poor transport.

Don’t think the boards will come down until the stand opens for the test events.Get the fucking hoarding down so we can see it finally as two tier!
Still missing seats in that area.Don’t think the boards will come down until the stand opens for the test events.
