North Stand expansion | Trial Event - Wed 20th May (p110)

Probably down to a bit of frustration. We pretty much all thought the tickets would sell faster, and hoped they would sell out.

Sure but is ain’t not going to sell out! It’s this continue stick us Man City fans keep getting even by our own supporters!

Oh it’s isn’t just a £5 is it? Travel isn’t cheap!

Back in the day, if we were told that our club was building (what will probably be) one of the best stands in world football, so people can watch top level Premier League and Champions League football, most blues would have bitten their hands off. These days we're all too spoilt. 'why should we help out, 'how can they charge us', ' they should be putting on something to entertain us' etc etc. How about us blues just selflessly helping our club out. As usual, something positive turns out to be a moanfest.
No one at the club is working for free. It is just health and safety admin, and could have been organised a lot nbetter like in 2003 when 35k turned up to the test event.

Maybe the players could fill a block with friends and family like 2019 Brighton and lead by example, city have enough players in different teams, coaches and hangers on to fill it.

What you talking about it be filled it a nothing post!

Think this is in the right place to post.

Was at the game yesterday talking with my mates, we sit in the North Stand block 035 and are getting relocated due to City Hall and the corporate seats.

Some of lads were invited by the club to meet as part of the relocation to new seats process. They managed to get close to the new extension to view potential seats. We’ve now been relocated to the tier above, 3 rows into the new extension (135). We have a FOC too, who needs disability access, he has been relocated close by and has lift access; I think we will be in the new concourse of the new stand.

There are 14 of us relocated over 2 rows, new seats and are very much looking forward to next season. My point is, some of my mates have been disappointed with how things were dealt with by the club initially, but we are very happy with the outcome.

Talking with lads around us, one couple being moved said that he has managed to relocate to the new tier along with his mates, a group of 20 or so. Others have too.

I think with a mix of blues being relocated together and the designated singing area, this could be decent..

Fingers crossed, we’ll have access to this area of concourse.

10 of us are moving over from south stand level 3 at the front (currently an 8 and a separate 2). We need similar over there, near to an exit and a lift (for the older and disabled in our group). Excited by the move. Just waiting to sort it all out.

Great to read that mate. I am glad you are all sorted.

Appreciate its not finished but walking around it yesterday it the most boring looking development I've seen in years. The windows should have been blue tinted , there should be huge city badges all over it and much more white /blue than grey and brick. There is nothing about it that shows its an extension of manchester city football club.

That's great to read, good to hear there is that happening too, and hopefully it extends to more fans affected.

This has been dealt with numerous time on here, the development is more than an “extension of Manchester City Football Club”
Three projects:
North Stand extension of the second tier and increased hospitality this could have been done asa a stand alone project but would only have increased revenue a max thirty times a season

The following two projects aim at making the Etihad Campus a 365 visitor attraction to add to the CooP Live generating revenue for the club
Medlock Hotel this will facilitate the complex with the largest hotel, 401 rooms, in Manchester with conferencing facilities etc
Commercial Building: A new club store Museum and VT attraction and leased office space will add to revenue generation for the club
There are additional facilities
Medlock Square, Skywalk new restaurant, again generating revenue

On the point of view of branding. The extension is matched to the current colour palette of the ground the on match days City theme will be all over the facility, aside from the store with its permanent branding the 4 giant screens will no doubt be broadcasting the club On none match days, the other 335+, this will be aimed at those who are attending the campus for other events, so why would there be any need to rub the City branding in their faces, there is plenty of that on the other three stands and internally and in the bowl there will be no doubt as to where people are.

You'll be just behind me then. I'm in 135 and am sat just in front of the new extension. It's great to hear that the club have dealt with this well as one of the main criticisms we had when City Matters started, and they displaced people for the Tunnel Club, was that they dealt with this very badly. They weren't proactive and basically left people to sink or swim. Eventually we persuaded them to be more proactive and supportive of people who would be displaced and I'm glad they seem to have listened.
