Didn't realise new stand was opening in phases until OSC meeting last night. First seats available 2025 but it will be fully open 2026 we were told. Also mention of '10,000 extra tickets', though that would seem to be more than extra seats. Just being pragmatic, if it coincides with Pep's departure - although I would hope we would keep him for life as we have to be the BEST job in club football - there should be a window when ticket availability isn't quite as fraught.Massive expansion of Etihad Stadium gets final sign off
The stadium will have a capacity of just under 62,000 once works are completewww.manchestereveningnews.co.uk
Hadn't realised

Found this on Skyscraper CityA fair few pre-commencement conditions imposed, including materials - which I'd imagine will come in soon and are worth monitoring to get a better idea of the final proposals.
The key from here really is to try and ensure it becomes a home end and is marketed correctly by the club so it really does live up to the design. I'm not sure how many seats in total will be in the extended 2nd tier, but it's going to be one hell of a stand when finished.
Time to sit back and enjoy it coming out of the ground, and start thinking about the side stands to take us up to 80,000. Might be a few transport problems to sort before we get there though!
Edit - the part in bold - any seat counters got an idea? I'd guess the existing north stand blocks 234-239 hold about 2,500 give or take so we're looking at circa 11,000 in the six blocks behind the goal in the 2nd tier (basically ignoring the corners). Will make a racket when that gets going, even with a few sipping craft beer and those at the top in the sky bar on their champagne!

That's interesting as it put the total capacity over 63 k when it's finished!Found this on Skyscraper City

61,958 is the new capacity. There's a planning condition restricting it to that number.
I've just seen there's an application to vary the wording of the materials and louvre screen conditions on the decision notice as they're pre-commencement but the club want a more flexible timescale so they can get the panels up in April time onsite.
@Coatigan there's a facade mock-up of the commercial building on there but the application is to amend the trigger point for the materials to be agreed so we'll have to wait to see more in due course - 138417/NMC/2023 is the reference.
