Agreed. It looks hideous. Not impressed with that ! May look better when it's lit up but looks like a glorified slow cooker !
Didn't realise new stand was opening in phases until OSC meeting last night. First seats available 2025 but it will be fully open 2026 we were told. Also mention of '10,000 extra tickets', though that would seem to be more than extra seats. Just being pragmatic, if it coincides with Pep's departure - although I would hope we would keep him for life as we have to be the BEST job in club football - there should be a window when ticket availability isn't quite as fraught.![]()

Found this on Skyscraper CityA fair few pre-commencement conditions imposed, including materials - which I'd imagine will come in soon and are worth monitoring to get a better idea of the final proposals.
The key from here really is to try and ensure it becomes a home end and is marketed correctly by the club so it really does live up to the design. I'm not sure how many seats in total will be in the extended 2nd tier, but it's going to be one hell of a stand when finished.
Time to sit back and enjoy it coming out of the ground, and start thinking about the side stands to take us up to 80,000. Might be a few transport problems to sort before we get there though!
Edit - the part in bold - any seat counters got an idea? I'd guess the existing north stand blocks 234-239 hold about 2,500 give or take so we're looking at circa 11,000 in the six blocks behind the goal in the 2nd tier (basically ignoring the corners). Will make a racket when that gets going, even with a few sipping craft beer and those at the top in the sky bar on their champagne!

That's interesting as it put the total capacity over 63 k when it's finished!Found this on Skyscraper City

61,958 is the new capacity. There's a planning condition restricting it to that number.
I've just seen there's an application to vary the wording of the materials and louvre screen conditions on the decision notice as they're pre-commencement but the club want a more flexible timescale so they can get the panels up in April time onsite.
@Coatigan there's a facade mock-up of the commercial building on there but the application is to amend the trigger point for the materials to be agreed so we'll have to wait to see more in due course - 138417/NMC/2023 is the reference.
Great find. It is such a common thing, that I quite often wonder why a condition like that is even noted as pre-commencement rather than pre-installation, by default.
That aside, the programme included for the installation of the mock-up is by Sisk, so they may be more advanced with them than we all think.
It is still including a broader commencement date of late October, so there doesn't seem to be much of a planned shift as of yet. The facade mock-up would be ready on site around April, so that will be the time to look at it, so will hold off comments on it just now.
edit, the 'mock-up' on there is just the extents, presumably to agree the size of the real life one that will be installed for inspection. Rather than to approve it off the back of that.
Will there be lazy boy seats with cup holders and things?
Doubt it very much. The club would prefer to sell matchday memberships.I hope vast majority of seats are for season tickets

It depends on what the appetite is from existing season ticket holders. It's a single tier where 10,000 blues could go and make a racket. It can become our home end. But are people going to want to move over to it? The entry level hospitality proposed might put a few people off, even though there's still 9,500 standard tickets in there. It could and should be the singing section and the answer to all of the previous failed attempts to create a single singing section. A large group under the roof making a racket and getting noise going around the ground, as opposed to separate groups of a few thousand in the south stand on different tiers that can't hear each other.
I'm not sure what the appetite is. From reading comments from people like @jrb who gets involved heavily with 1894 I'm not sure many will want to move or whether the club are interested in making it a true home end. That will cause a lot of upheaval for people all around the south stand, will maybe force out some of those who are in what is the family stand in the 2nd tier currently and be too much of a pain.
