There are so many loose assumptions here, that people are stating as fact. And then others reading that and believing it to be true, and then spreading it as fact.

It is becoming a bit of a shitshow, and people here really should do better.

I encourage those reading this afresh to take most of it with a big pinch of salt.

The club have shat it being partial with information, but a few here are milking it and damn well know better. It is irresponsible.

Now let me start by stating clearly, with no shadow of doubt, that ADUG, and Sheikh Mansour, has been an unbelievable owner for us. He's enabled us to have memories that we daren't have ever dreamed of. Back in 2007, I'd have died a happy man if we could win one more FA Cup. However; coming up to the present day, I think It's all about revenue for our owner(s) now. Legacy fans are an irrelevance to them. Corporates and hospitality are the way to go, in their eyes. And I understand the concept of the club being self financing, which I believe we are now? I had a brief conversation on here with another poster who said that he'd like to see tickets for the Brentford CC game going on sale for a tenner for adults. It's a great idea, but I'll repeat what I said to him; namely, that I just can't see the club selling tickets for that price. And I dread to think what a room in the new hotel will cost on a match day.

The hospitality prices must have rocketed this season to subsidise the match day ticket price reductions across the board this season after the fan protests at the end of last season. ;-)

To be fair its not being built for football fans full stop. No business and certainly not 400 room hotel is built with about 25 -30 days of football a year as a big part of the business plan.

Air BNB has rocketed in the area since COOP Live has opened. There’s big demand for hotel accommodation for the gigs. Football fans are likely to make up the minority of guests.

The hotel will help with return on investment of the overall development and that’s why it is being built.

Especially as those going to gigs know months in advance and can book,anyone booking a hotel for the football only know a few weeks in advance, that’s why we end up paying a lot whether its a travel lodge or anything else.

Nobody knows.

Nobody knows what the 500 bar is within City Hall. Or how it affects and works with City Hall. Or how many seats go with that. Or if they are GA+. Or if they are, whether they are additional. Or replacing the ones above. Or if the ones above are remaining there, or moving up, or moving down to the level below with the new bar in City Hall.

People are guessing. And then stating it as fact, i.e lying. But nobody knows.

The club haven't helped it with a vague and partial statement.

I think it is. Most hotels aren’t a part of a football stadium are they. If we play Liverpool in the champions league and 3/4 is full of Liverpool fans you’d be ok with that? If those hotel packages also provide tickets/ seating in the north stand as well..

As someone who’s never going to use it, maybe that’s why I’m not bothered about it.

If will be the same view looking from the hospitality seats at the very back of North stand, Level 1, unless the club somehow enhance the seats and the viewing experience.

I have stood under the overhang at the back of South stand, Level 1 on quite an few occasions, and to be honest it can be quite oppressive as the concrete overhang constantly catches your line of sight throughout the match.

TBH, that is right at the back of the overhang. The wheelchair bays are to the right behind the metal barriers.

Can you see what’s going on in penalty area and in the goal mouth at the other end of the pitch?

You’d have to assume there will be match and hotel packages. Maybe even match, hotel, and restaurant packages. A hotel room, seats on the floating 3rd tier or on the 2nd tier, and a meal in the hotel restaurant after the match.

What pisses me off more than anything as one of seats being moved, i thought the club had thought about us and put a new screen at the opposite end for us to at last to see what the rest of you get to see every game.
Turns out it's not for us. Fuckers.

If you sit in the back 3 or 4 rows in that location we've not seen a screen for years due to the overhang from above.

I can understand why people are pissed off, i would mainly say it's due the bonds/friendships people have made over the years. Most of us have been there 10 years plus, like everwhere in the stadium has it's own little community.

Like people have mentioned i don't how else we could have been told to make it more acceptable, possibly before the start of the season might of helped as they must known then.

Being not bothered about it , is not contentious, that's a personal opinion.

City are one of the First to build a Hotel, it is primarily to increase revenue for both the Arena and secondly the football club.
Clubs need to make venues a place to stay or visit for longer than 2 hours.

Then you include 2 ifs. I cannot answer those, as I don't know, I presume away fans will use the Hotel, as I have done at Chelsea, it never occurred to me that I was being contentious though.

I hope to use it, if I can afford it. City for many of us is a whole day, expensive experience, and often includes a stay over, because we have had to, or choose to live away from Manchester.
If I can't afford it, I will have to slum it in a town Centre Hotel.

I often read on the Forum fans moaning about getting back to Altrincham or Bury, some of us don't have that luxury.

The City fan base is now a broad Church, the Club has embraced that, it seems whatever they do is met with derision by some, there needs to be a balance.

We were told that the fan money from the gate wasn't that important after the TV deals, some of the noise coming from the club is plain stupid and some of the alright Jacks are lapping it up.

The Broadcasting Revenue went up by 71% from 2013-14. All PL clubs could have frozen ticket prices for many years after that, and the BR has shot up numerous times since then (another 17% from this season to 2028).

Instead they’ve continued to put prices up and price more and more long standing fans out.
