and whats your point i have been to maine road and iv been in the kippax son. And i do go to as many away games as i can but i have to pay for them myself i dont rely on my parents to pay for me and i pay for my season ticket aswell.

And the same applies to you. Dont be going dissing 111-110

LOl if you read i wasnt dizzing 111 i was sticking up for them, they just need to get over the swamp defeat and get there gusto back,my fellow blue.

sorry mate i think i mistaken you for somebody else. But the matter of the fact is that you need the away fans for an atmosphere. The more they are the more noise they make and we then feel we have to step up to outsing them.

im acting like a big man because i said that i bet 2/3 of the north stand dont go to away games? then the same applies for you because you asked the exact same question about block 111 and 110.

And yes i go to as many away games as i can and i pay for the tickets myself i dont rely on my dad to pay for me just because im young

North Stand is quiet but it's still better than the pathetic South Stand.
The South Stand is the new Stretford End/Kop - a tourist attraction so you can have the "authentic" Manchester City experience.

Im more of a lurker on here and know that PB and IP are pretty level headed most of the time so dont take this as aimed at you two personally, just general observations of the board that I occasionally feel the need to post :)

To me the SS is just the place they moved me to when they buried Home. All this slagging off is pretty fucking pathetic in my humble opinion, blah blah this stand blah blah that stand. I'll sing when I want to sing, not because some jumped up keyboard warriors question my support, not because I sit in the south and feel the need to protect/enhance the "reputation" of the south stand with other Blues but because I want to cheer or lift the team or a player. Too many people trying to make statements about how good they are as fans rather than just supporting the team.

Equally I try my best not to engage in slagging matches with those people because at the end of the day they have City's best interests at heart, even though most of the time the way they express themselves is exactly the way jumped up keyboard warriors do. Sick of hearing about how we need to get back to the legendary noise levels the Kippax used to generate, it was so loud you could hear it in Japan you know! Same goes for the old North Stand where I was moved from. Sick of all this bullshit about how we need a singing section or to move the away fans to get everyone together and a whole host of other shit that is bollocks.

Funny thing is despite the myth's about the Kippax and North Stand Maine Road used to literally rock when everyone got together, the banter between the stands was all in good fun as we were all Blues at the end of the day. On here it seems like there are proper divisions with the way people slag each other off, people should wind their neck in and think about what they say before getting so personal. Sometimes its loud, sometimes its quiet, it goes through spells that can be short or long periods, Ive always found the atmosphere is better when the weather is half decent and the game means something but there will obviously be exceptions.

The loudest Ive ever heard City was against Wigan in the Div 2 play off semi's. If you werent there I feel sorry for you. That was atmosphere, Hamburg was a wet fart compared. The Umbro stand from that night on its own would outsing the whole CoMS, equally for a lot of the time Maine Road is how CoMS is now*, a minority making the noise with others chipping in when they want but back then there wasnt this need to slag fellow fans off.

*With the exception that we didnt sing fucking rag songs!

This is it ,good post but the maine road days were pretty much before socialnetworking took off ,and i think the percentage on here compared tohow many are at the games is small ,so dont worry not a huge problem ,ithink most at the ground are as one ..

I'm a regular of 232 and there is a few of us which join in with the songs, but it is the family stand and I do feel like I have to watch my language at times! Funny really because when I was about 8 or 9 going to the game all I wanted to do was sing all the songs - you don't really get that anymore?!

But I went with my love interest (felixbg) in 117 last night... It was quite funny with the 'foooooorkineeeellllll' thing in the second half. To be honest the main difference between the South and North Stand is that in the South Stand everyone is chatting to each other during the game and join in if a song gets going (which it rarely does from my experience!) whereas in the North Stand no one says a word... it's like their almost afraid.

I used to think that 111 looked like a laugh, but they've been quiet recently. On and off the pitch, losing to United in the cup has knocked the stuffing out of us.

bluemoon1078 quite obviously your not a fan of singing but to slag off block 111 and 110 is a big statement considering you dont sing yourself?!!

To me it seems that you dont know much about city because i am guessing that nearly every seat in those 2 blocks is held by a season ticket holder.

Dont call them part timers because they are actually trying to create and atmosphere.

Bein told to sit down for a corner is EMBARASING!!!

Much better than your previous attempt but still wrong. Why is it embarrassing in the North Stand? It does not portray itself as a singing stand. It's the family stand. If you want to stand at corners go in the South Stand and let the kids watch the match they paid for without having you in their way.

kettle calling the pan black in my opinion. people know that if you want to sing you get ur ticket in or as close to the south stand or 111 as possible. no club in this country has a ground where everybody will sing it just doesn't happen.
So instead of constantly havin a go at the north stand try providin eastlands with an atmosphere from where the 'real city fans sit' where people go to sing because you were equally poor last night in relative terms!

must be honest, i do dislike sitting in the north stand, and wish to move when im able to pay my own season ticket. but i hardly begrudge people not wanting all the banter and singing.
