just read a storyon manchester confidential that says the twisted wheel (legends club) is going to be demolished to build a german motel ,went a few times in the early70,s yet another part of our culture going :( dont know how to down load it off my phone

have been searching for a song for years, the lyrics to the chorus are summit like "never thought of falling in love." or "never thought id fallen in love." Another line is summit like "you your love could turn to honey it'd spread everywhere, if your love could turn to money then i'd be a millionaire" struggling so much to find it, someone clued up on northern soul must know it!

Doing ok mate, got to go in hospital on the 23rd for a couple of stents in the other two arteries.
Then rehab for 6 weeks.

The Wheel closed in (I think March) 1971 and became Placemate - Less bother from the cops. The Pendulum was a great substitute for Manchester dancers although it only went on till about 11pm. Blackpool Mecca was a 2am finish and kip on the beach, or as many as you could sneak into a cheap B&B. Luckily, the Torch (for me the best of all Northern Soul clubs) filled the all-nighter gap, and a trip to Burton-on-Trent for the Sunday all-dayer amd for a splendid weekend.

Va-Va's in Bolton and Up the Junction in Crewe were great nights. Wigan Casino was unbelievably overrated an a sad decline to the great days of Northern Soul.

Going back to the Wheel, it was where it all started, but it went 40 years ago - I'll shed no tears if the building is finally knocked down, it's called progress!
