Not as good as last season

We have gone backwards from last season. Instead of improving and moving forward we have gone worse. Last season we could play with speed going forward as well as playing the patient build up. This season it is just a slow build up firing to go though the middle.

Is it time for a manAger who can push us forward?

I think we have tried to put all the eggs in the slow build up approach instead of mixing it like most teams will do. We upped the tempo a little in the second half and it stretched the Dippers and put the wind up 'em for a time. Going at teams with pace frightens the crap out of any team. Don't know why we don't start with a hellfire approach and then resort to the patient approach in the second half.

We only have plan A the rags have a few more options than us with wingers on both sides teams have sused us out now !! Get in to our midfield and we can't play ??
Manchini doesn't like playing with wingers. When he does he likes playing them on their wrong side and cutting in. He doesn't like playing with width.

Who the hell is Manchini?

Sorry mate, just saw the other thread you started. Can't be bothered with you.
Truth hurts eh?

I like what Manchini has done, but the truth is he's not going to get us any further. Loyality is commendable but very short sighted.

Spelling isn't my strength and I'm not really arsed.

The basic truth is that it is damage limitation in terms of what happened (or did not happen) in last summers transfer window.

Both Bobby and us the fans have had to live with the fact that the squad was not improved upon and eventually left us more exposed in terms of the players that were brought in.
That being said the team at Bobby disposal is still capable of retaining our title this year.

It hurts though to look at the league table to see a team 9 points infront when all they actually did was purchase one player. Although RVP being a class striker, their defence and midfield have remained basically the same. And that is what is hard to swallow.

We have been average all season, performing somewhat near like last season on the few occassions.

I have come to look at this 2 ways - I still BELIEVE that we can overturn this deficit and finish above the rag scum. But if we don't I have the utmost faith that it will be rectified come the summer and we will assemble a squad that will not only win us the league title but elevate our club to another level.
The squad was improved upon and it was needed (and had been for a while). It was our starting XI that wasn't improved upon. But that could and should happen this Summer and next season we could be stronger than ever with our best ever starting XI and a deeper squad than ever before due to the players we signed last Summer.

Football is about ever changing and evolving squads and things don't always work on a season-to-season basis. Sometimes squads take a dip, sometimes starting XIs take a dip, that's true for any club, even the big clubs like Bayern München and Real Madrid. Even when looking at improving year-on-year.

Also people think that just because we have Sheikh Mansour that players will just rock up pleading us to sign them but as was shown lat Summer, sometimes players just don't want to sign for a club. Thiago Silva went to Paris, can see why; Hazard wet to Chelsea, can see why; Di Rossi was ted to stay with the club in his blood, can see why; van Persie went to United, can see why; Martínez went to München, can see why... It's certainly not like we didn't try to sign anyone. But who is to say who we did get - making us a stronger squad overall if[/when] we sign some real decent quality this coming Summer - will actually make us better off long term.

Last Summer's transfer window could have been slightly disappointing for this season, but maybe ongoing we could look back and say it was important for five years coming up.

Spelling should be the least of your worries...are you like 12 year old or something?

You sound like a spoiled brat.

He's not got us any further this season. There's another season after this, you know. He could well evolve our team and himself further next season.

I think it's short sighted to sack a manager after one season where he was dipped.

Mancini seems very tactically limited in an attacking sense - one idea and if it doesn't work chuck the forwards on. He chooses not to play wingers when he's had a bottomless wallet that could have bought him cream of the crop wingers. Our attacking play is truly disappointing considering the players and resources we have. Mancini gets the very best out of defensive players (like Zaba) but can't seem to get the best out of our attacking players, I think it's tactical.

spot on

The last 2 transfer windows have set us back massively. We has Utd exactly where we wanted them and just a couple of world class signings would have seen us kick on again. It could take upwards off £100 million now to right the wrongs we have done and I'm not sure the club is prepared to do that anymore. Everyone can see the team lacks pace and width and without silva firing there is a distinct lack of creativity.
